Amazing! This gloss is very comparible to other, higher-end products out there. Comfortable, moisturizing and long lasting, I love applying this sparingly for everyday, or layering it on for super glossy, plump lips for an evening out. I buy multiples at a time when they’re on sale to put in every bag I have.

Very nice. I bought 2 shades: nectar and rouge. I like rouge much better than nectar mostly because it just looks better on me. I got this at a local shopper’s drug mart. I like the shine and pigmentation. Mixed in with my natural lip colour (which is on the duller medium side of pink), it is a bright berry colour :).

I have Lux Creme in Lolita and I love it. It doesn’t irritate or dry out my lips. While my hair sticks to it sometimes, it’s only when I’m being blown around and it’s gloss, so hair will always stick. Both the shine and colour is subtle enough for everyday wear, at the office or while playing baseball. The colour does show and it’s the only pinky corally I have ever gotten that doesn’t turn fushia on my lips (I have purple undertones in my lips, I guess). I love that the tube is small and fits in my mini summer purse, though a bigger tube obviously means more product. The price was a bit high on this one, $10 something CDN, but it’s available at Shopper’s so that’s easy.

Really good gloss, I wear it EVERYDAY!; I’m usually not a big fan of lip glosses, but after buying the Marcelle Lux Gloss in “Belle de la Ville”, it’s got me hooked (:
The colour is really natural and sheer, but gives just enough colour to make your lips pop. I would REALLY recommend the “Belle de la Ville” colour (Which I think is part of one of their newer lines); its a really nice sheer pink, that looks very natural and can basically go with any skin tone. Good for daily use, eg. School, shopping, etc. (:

** This review is for the LUX Sheer glosses. **
What it Claims:
“Easy to wear, Lux Gloss Sheer gives your lips that delicious wet look shine while also revitalizing them. Each shade provides the sheerest of coverage and the most brilliant shimmering iridescence. Exceptionally comfortable, Lux Gloss is infused with a unique Vita-Lip complex, a combination of lipopeptid-based amino acids proven to stimulate collagen production and provide optimum hydration. Your lips are fuller, smoother and plump.
Hypo-allergenic and perfume free.”
Claims – True or False?
1) Sheer coverage: False. I’d say that it’s more of a medium coverage, but could be toned town if some is removed from the brush before applying.
2) Hydrating: False
3) Fuller lips: False, however the glossiness can in fact make them LOOK fuller.
Packaging:
The one thing I truly hate about this gloss. It comes with a twist off brush applicator, and while the brush itself makes application more precise and soft, it means that getting out every last bit of product is impossible. The brush does not reach down all the way to the bottom, so there is almost no way of getting to the very bottom of the tube. Has a clear packaging, which makes it easy to see what colour you are picking out, but does not have much use in terms of allowing you to see how much is left. Does look quite cheap as well.
Smell:
While there isn’t a fragrance to it, there is a slight odor to the gloss. Not unpleasant, but has a slight… “product” smell. However, this should be noted as a positive; some are quite sensitive to certain scents and fragrances, and some have a very strong sense of smell, so eliminating fragrance means that it is suited well for those that are picky or have allergies.
Consistency:
This gloss has a very high shine finish, along with some shimmer. The shimmer itself is quite fine, so you will not be stuck with pieces of glitter all over your lips, reminiscent of childhood products. The gloss is quite thick; applied on your hand, do not expect it to roll or drip down. When applied to the lips, it adheres well to the lips (when applied to the back of my hand and spread out with my finger, I could feel it sticking to my hand while spreading it out) without leaving you with a sticky finish. Because it is on the thicker side, the colour can appear more opaque than what you’d expect.
Ease of Use:
Simply pull out the brush and apply to the lips. Applies to the lips without any issue, but if you find that it applies too much at once, either wipe it off before applying or scrape it off into the gloss opening. One major gripe: Because the brush does not extend all the way to the bottom of the gloss, unless you get resourceful (q-tips anyone?), you will easily be wasting the bottom portion of the gloss. Although it does have some grip when applied, it is easily blended into the lips without causing them to feel sticky. As it isn’t sticky, it is easily removed with a tissue without leaving any tissue particles stuck to the lips. Great for those wanting a quick change in gloss throughout the day.
Bang for your Buck:
For a drug store brand, it is a little steeper. However, these glosses can easily last you quite a while with regular use, so for me, it’s quite a cheap price. That being said though, my price limit for gloss is quite high (30 dollars) simply because I wear so many different glosses, which means they generally last quite a while. At 0.18oz (or 5.5mL) for a price tag of around $10.00, I personally find it to be quite reasonably priced. If you are not one to purchase many glosses, and like to keep the number minimal (5 or less), these may not be as reasonably priced for you; compared to two other drug store glosses, the Marcelle glosses only contain about half the product of the other brands.
Final Consensus:
I’ve been a lip product junkie since childhood. So naturally, I am always on the lookout for a nice gloss to add to my collection. I’ve been using two Marcelle LUX Sheer glosses (Nectar, Mousseline) for a few years, and overall I am happy with my purchase. The colours offer sheer to moderate coverage, a nice shimmery finish, no stickiness, not watery, lasts a decent amount of time on the lips and feels nice on the lips. Like some, I dislike the packaging (I much prefer squeeze tubes) but it does not impact how the product works. Some have complained that there is no fragrance or taste; the role of a lip gloss is NOT to make your lips smell and taste good, it’s to add colour, gloss, shine to the lips. I personally don’t mind the fact that it is fragrance-free, as I generally don’t spend my time licking off my lip gloss or smelling my lips. While not a perfect gloss by any means when compared to my HG glosses, it is a nice addition to my collection and I will purchase other colours one of these days.

Marcelle makes one of the best lip glosses i’ve ever tried. They’re not sticky and provides shine. I got Passion and Sorbet, both very wearable and moisturizing. Looks great alone or over lip stick. In the tube, it looks like theres a lot of shimmer but when you put it on, it doesn’t look too crazy. I got this during the xmas special where they package 2 lipgloss for the price of 1. Totally worth it!

I have this lipgloss in Nectar. It’s the sheer lipgloss of the Lux ones but I find this not sheer at ALL. It has great colour pay off and I have highly pigmented lips. This colour when applied lightly is a warm orangey pink, not bright but it has nice shimmer to it. I don’t reccomend this colour for cooler toned people. These don’t have any taste or smell (even though I like my glosses with it, having none is much better then it having a very chemically taste and smell). I was very surprised to see that this product had quite a few bad reviews. I got this lipgloss on sale for $4.99 and I would gladly pay the full price for it. It’s not sticky at all. The packaging is nice although it is a bit small considering it’s pretty much only half full. This lasts a long time too. Btw, it has a doe-foot applicator.

I have purchased this gloss in the shades “Princess” and “Champagne”, and have nothing other than compliments for this product! It’s not nearly as tacky as other lip glosses, but still has the high shine and subtle color that I desire. Additionally, my lips feel soft and moisturized when I wear these glosses, which cannot be said about other products I’ve used. All in all, I’m definitely going to buy this product in other shades 🙂

I love these lip glosses they are slightly translucent so it works great to add a tint on top of the lipstick colour. I wear my revlon colourstay in natural cashmere and wear one of these lipglosses on top and the colour comes out so nice! i love it!
I tried 3 of their shades serenade, passion and sorbet. I love passion and serenade, even though it looks dark/very intense in the bottle in comes out just the right amount of colour. I mean don’t forget these are sheer translucent glosses so even if looks dark in the bottle it comes out significantly lighter than what it suggests. I didn’t like sorbet though gave a nice glossy finish but did not bring that multi-dimensional luminance that the other 2 gave. Also sorbet didn’t have a good colour payoff that i expected, so kind of disapointed in that one. I find it a tad expensive for a drugstore product. However certain shades like passion and especially serenade are really good.
For colours like passion and serenade you can wear it over a lipstick or even alone and it will still look good but for sorbet, a lipstick as a base colour would be better before putting the gloss over.

I have this lipgloss in Nectar. I really like the orangey reddish pink colour but next time I will probably get a pinker shade. This gloss is kinda pricey for a drugstore gloss and the packaging is okay, nothing special. The consistency is smooth and theres just that perfect amount of colour payoff you want. Its nice and shiny and looks good.
If you want something that moisturizes though, this isn’t good. And if you want something that lasts long it isn’t good either. Unfortunately those are the top two things I look for in a lip product so this wasn’t a very good product for me.
