Pros:
-The packaging looks adoreable.
-Unusual (but not in any way unique) and nice colour.
-Ok texture
Like the other Carousel glosses these are pretty much the only good things about it
The twisted transparent plastic tube looks cute, as does the purple cap and box. It reminds me a little of a theme park, which fits well with the name. It has a gorgeous deep blue sparkling colour. The texture is noticeable, but soft.
Cons:
-Doesn’t stay put, bleeds and transfers to teeth
-Rancid Vanilla smell
-Nowhere nearly opaque (it really doesn’t look as on the website)
-Uneven application
-Sets in lines on the lips
-Fades quickly
-Looks dirty
-Stains
The vanilla scent hits you when you open the cap, as with the others. Which would be nice if I liked the scent, unfortunately it also smells rancid. Like it has gone bad.
The colour payoff is very transparent and uneven. It ends up looking dirty. Within an hour there was heavy migrating, blotching and fading. This, like the golden ticket, set in lines around the lips (something I have never had a problem with in any other lipglosses I’ve tried). When I tried to remove it I stil had obvious blue flecks and stains on my lips.
The problem boils down to that the reason why I would wear a sapphire blue lip gloss is that I want that colour on my lips, this just doesn’t deliver. To make it look good I needed to layer with something deep blue below, making this unnecessary. I tried layer it over black, but the blotchiness was too obvious!

I saw this on the web and thought wow i dont see a lipgloss in this shade very often,at first i was very hesitant to get this because it is a very different shade and also i was worried that the colour wouldnt be as opaque and vibrant in real life but now im glad i decided to get it,the coverage on this gloss is excellent giving you a vibrant result as for the colour itself it is exactly what lime crime describe it as a sapphire blue with glitter,i will admit the shade is a bit of getting use to but once you do you will love this gloss.

Besides the opaque, almost pastel, candy-colored lipsticks for which they are well-known, Lime Crime has expanded into lip gloss with their new Carousel Glitter Glosses. This winter 2011 Limited Edition collection includes 5 colors:
Candy Apple (ruby red w/ crimson glitter), Cherry On Top (pink-red jelly w/ rainbow sparkle), Golden Ticket (bronze metallic gold w/ gold glitter- on my wish list), Kaleidoscope (deep plum-purple w/ turquoise sparkle, see my review), and Loop-de-Loop (reviewed here).

Loop-de-Loop is a deep sapphire blue with a glossy metallic finish and a slight purple duochrome. The glitter did not seem particularly apparent on my lips, but after i wiped it off, i could see the fine multi-colored micro-glitter that is visible in the tube remaining on my lips, so perhaps it is more visible to other folks. Like Lime Crime lipsticks, it, too, has a slight synthetic vanilla scent, but no flavor. It is nowhere as sticky as many other glosses i have, such as MAC, and has quite a bit of staying power, even staining the lips a bit.

The case comes in a hexagonal cardboard tube printed in white, pale orchid, and deep metallic purple. The tube is transparent plastic with twisting spiral grooves. The long cap is metallic purple with lavender and white printing in festive curliques and fancy script saying Carousel Gloss. The top of the cap has little stars and a unicorn head embossed in relief. The white plastic wand has a brush applicator – i marked in down one star because my brush, at least, was rather munged, with bent hairs sticking out on one side.

This is a rare and uncommon lip color – i’m not exactly sure if it is truly unique – in the REAL meaning of unique, which is one-of-a-kind – but i certainly haven’t seen a lipstick or lip gloss in this color in the past few years, and i am always on the look-out for unusual lipsticks. If unusual and unexpected colors are your thing, then, as the Lime Crime website says, “…hurry: this collection melts away with winter’s last snow…”
