I love a mood lipstick, and that this looks fairly black in the tube but yields a berry hue was appealing. It does do the job, too. On me it turns into a purple-berry shade that is more subtle and not too intense — a hint of tint, basically. You get about as much color from this as you would from one of the Benebalms, but those feel more moisturizing.
This product, though, is fun and looks cool, but I am knocking it down a couple points because again, I don’t find it to be too hydrating. It does have peppermint oil in it, though, and for me personally I’ve never found peppermint oil to feel that great on the lips long term. It feels good at first, kind of slick, but I don’t feel any major moisture. It has a touch of a sweet flavor, and the color and formula fade fast. (Even a few sips of coffee will result in most of it ending up on the cup.) But it’s cute, pretty and fun, so I like that. I wouldn’t say it’s worth $24 for the lack of staying power. There are far cheaper products out there where you could get more color payoff and moisture. Or, if you wanted to pay the same amount of money, try Lipstick Queen’s Frog Prince or Hello Sailor. They are more moisturizing, have the same staying power (Frog Prince is a bit better than Hello Sailor) and more color payoff (especially Frog Prince, if you like pink).

(I work in a cosmetics store so I was able to pick this and the matching lip gloss up before it’s official release date.)
This is a twist-up crayon lip tint – the product itself seemed a little glossier/waterier than the original shade Energy, so it’s a lot more sheer. Staying power is sub-par. It doesn’t dry my lips out but I find it also doesn’t hydrate them very well. It has the same minty/menthol scent as the original tint as well. The packaging is very cute, but overall, I wouldn’t pay $24.00 for this in the future.
