This gloss has the same fruity scent as its original counterpart in “Energy.” It’s a beautiful deep violet/mauve colour and the gloss itself stays on for a few hours. It’s a little sticky, so windy days are definitely the enemy when I’m wearing this. I love the applicator, a doe foot applicator, but there’s a slight cutout towards the end making the brush fit onto the lip much better.

This is actually a review of the LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss, which comes in a tube with a doe foot applicator (not the “chubby stick” version). I was hesitant to drop $19 on a tube of lip gloss, particularly after seeing crummy results with other “color sensing” products on the market. I am SO glad I decided to splurge on this one!! I have been on the lookout for a good lip color for ages. A little background on my struggle: my skin tone is very cool/fair with a lot of red undertones in my lips (they are naturally very pink…until I put product on them). Many colors look too brownish on me or play up a diseased-looking red undertone in my skin, making me look like I have allergies or something. For that reason, I end up returning almost every lip color I try. I had given up on everything but basic, nude-pink tinted lip balm when I just happened to swatch this Tarte gloss on the back of my hand. Yes, it really does start out clear and then change color! On my lips, it develops a very distinct color that I can’t even begin to describe. Intense, but not overly bright. Dewy, but not too glossy. I guess the best description I can come up with is – it’s almost like the color of a pink rose. Not icy-cool like a neon pink, but not warm toned like a brown-based pink, either. It definitely looks like my lips have color, but NOT like I’ve applied lipstick or tinted lip gloss….it really does look like my lips just flushed from within. The formula feels very moisturizing as well, which is a bonus. I will definitely repurchase as this is truly my perfect lip color. I’m just praying they DO NOT discontinue this formula, although I’m 99% sure it is “limited edition” and will in fact be discontinued in the future 🙁

This review is for the LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss in the tube (not the stick). It is a gorgeous shade of pink, it sticks around on my lips, I don’t have to apply in front of a mirror and it’s not sticky or thick by any means. I picked this up on a whim because I’ve always been a sucker for color changing pinks and it paid off.
