I am honestly obsessed with this. Everything about it. The name, the concept, the sleek tube with metal applicator that glides on satisfyingly cold, the green tint, the smell, the minty taste, and yes, its performance as a lip balm. It has a pretty serious ingredient list but I haven’t had any irritation (but I don’t have sensitive lips). It’s green but goes on clear and has this heft to it similar to lanolin-based products that gives it better-than-average staying power. It is such a GLAZE though. It looks soooo good on, juicy and shiny but without that vinyl lip gloss look. It sinks into my lips and makes them bloom—sounds weird but lots of lip products (of any kind) can make my lips feel small/shriveled/dry (and I have good lips) but the Kush glaze makes me feel like I’m walking around with straight up perfect smackers. I’m not thrilled it’s $18 but it makes me like…so happy. SMOOCH SMOOCH. I did try on the Kush tinted balms in the store, and they looked gorgeous but felt slightly drying after a while. But I obviously recommend the glaze.

I got this with a gift card because I really like the other Milk Kush products and I was in the market for a new lip treatment. This is nicely hydrating, and I can tell a difference in the condition of my lips after wearing this. The shine isn’t crazy strong, but it definitely looks like you’re wearing a gloss rather than a balm which I really like if I want a daytime balm at work or while running around town. The texture is nice and thick, kind of similar to the Bite Agave lip mask, and clings onto the lips like a thicker gloss (without any stickiness). When I put on lip balm, I have to reapply every 20 or 30 minutes, but with this lip glaze I can get a good hour or two as long as I don’t eat or drink too much.I think my favorite thing is the applicator- it’s a metal tipped squeeze tube, and the cold metal feels refreshing and soothing.
Overall, I really like this product as a glass/balm combo! It’s a bit expensive for what it is, and I don’t know if it makes a big difference compared to drugstore balms as far as moisturizing goes, but the added shine is really lovely for daily use with makeup. If you want to splurge on a lip treatment that’s got some shine, this is a nice pick, but you can definitely save your money and just buy a regular balm or gloss.

I was really excited to try the new Milk Makeup KUSH Lip Glaze & Lip Balm, since this is another cannabis themed product. I really find Milk Makeup to be very hit or miss, although I really loved their new Kush Mascara from earlier this year. Their previous Ubame Mascara was something that I found dreadful to apply, but their new Kush Mascara really fit the bill.
Back to their Kush Lip Glaze and Kush Lip Balm, I found both to be moisturizing, but fragrant. They both include lots of different fragrance ingredients, which isn’t necessarily a huge deal all the time. The Kush Lip Balm contains two fragrance ingredients I prefer to avoid whenever possible- citral and gerinol. These are both ingredients that have a high likelihood of causing contact dermatitis. I also found the Kush Lip Balm to end of having an odd taste to it- a little bit like chicken (?) Very strange and somewhat unpleasant.
I had a much better experience with the Kush Lip Glaze. This applies nicely from the metal tip applicator, and smooths over lips easily. Sometimes I layer this over a matte lipstick which works well to add a bit of hydration. The Lip Glaze also only contains citral, no gerinol which is nice. This seems to be far more hydrating than the Lip Balm and also has a minty flavor to it. If you are choosing between the two I’d recommend the Lip Glaze.
