I’ve been a big fan of the Hi-Fi Shine glosses since their release last year, and this particular range is no exception. I’m not sure if it’s limited edition, but the four shades in the Sparkle Out Loud range are wonderful, and I’m hoping they add these to the permanent range.
I bought the shade “Hot Love”, which is a sheer pinky red with multi-tonal shimmer running throughout. It’s sheer enough to show pink on the lips, but there’s a warmth to it that gives it a less Barbie doll look. The shimmer is absolutely gorgeous; it’s a mix of red, iridescent blue/purple, and a warm orange. When the light hits it, you can really see them on full display. The flecks aren’t big or chunky, but there’s enough of an impact for it to be a great shade for day or night. I do find this and the other three shades in this range to be more pigmented over all than the other shimmer shades in the Hi-Fi Shine range, which was a pleasant surprise.
These are great in terms of longevity. I find I get about four hours of wear without eating. They are also really hydrating! My only caveat is that you can feel the glitter. I know this is a dealbreaker for some, but I don’t mind it. It’s a wee bit sticky, but not gloopy.
The packaging is consistent with the rest of the Hi-Fi Shine glosses. The flat, elongated doe foot applicator is soft, slightly flexible, and covers the lips with one swipe. The component is attractive and sturdy, while still being lightweight. I love that it’s also an almost mirror-like finish so I can touch up on the go without needing a separate mirror.
These are $20 for 0.23 ounces (~6.8 ml) which isn’t cheap, but for the amount of product you get, it’s not bad.
Cruelty-free, and according to the UD website, the four shades in this collection are vegan as well!
