This is such an amazing find. It certainly delivers. Great moisturising and makes any lip colour better. I often apply this on top of my pink lip tint, and it certainly enhances by a lot!
I did not mark it high on packaging, only because I am being quite fussy. I just think for the price, it looks quite ‘drugstore’. I find this to be true for all Lipstick Queen packaging (except for the LQ Silver Screen). I just think their packaging overall is not fitting for the price point. But really, that is very minor compared to its other qualities.
Highly recommended!

Love this stuff! Lips stay moisturizer forever and color only gets prettier.

***ETA: I just want to come back and say that, 4 months later, I still consider this to be one of best makeup buys in my life. A lot of times I write glowing reviews only to end up feeling “meh” about the product a week later. NOT SO with this gloss! The lipstick of the same name doesn’t hold up to the hype, so don’t judge the gloss by that. If you’ve been disappointed with stain products your whole life like I have, please give this a try.***
This is amazing. In the (extremely adorable) tube it’s a bright blue with sparkles; as you slick it on, it’s a deep, sheer, cool mauve; let it sit on your lips and it turns into the most perfect raspberry stain. Not too red, not too pink, not too berry, but simply perfect.
I can’t even believe how long both the gloss and the stain last. The gloss itself is one of my favorite textures, slick yet with a nice heft that helps adhere it to your lips. Very moisturizing, and it *will* stick around for a couple hours at least. And the stain lasts for many hours. The best parts about Hello Sailor for me are 1) the longevity, 2) the fact that it shows up so fabulously on my pigmented lips for a “sheer” product, and 3) it leaves my lips in great condition all day, no icky weird dried out feeling if I don’t constantly reapply.
It is extremely fun to use too 🙂
ETA: It does tingle a little and has a plumping effect. This isn’t advertised but it should be since people are thinking they’re allergic to it! Also, do not get it outside your lip line unless you want a stained clown-mouth situation going on.
Kinda want to run around kissing people, leaving smooch marks on their cheeks they can’t rub off, haha.

I have a hard time calling this a lip gloss–it’s more like a lip stain. It’s a little deceptive, but in an awesome way. In the tube it’s a lovely cobalt color with blue shimmer. Once applied, it initially looks like a very blue-based pink/mauve, but after an hour or so… wowza–it looks like a lovely raspberry pink.
The texture is nice and glossy at first and tingles a little (maybe I’m allergic to something in it? Time will tell). It lasts a while for a gloss, and it’s a little on the sticky side.
Here’s what makes this remarkable: I applied this at 6 am yesterday. At 7:15, I looked in the mirror and my lips were that rosy raspberry color, and the color lasted until well after 5 pm. The gloss itself probably wore off by 10 (which is pretty good for a gloss), but I couldn’t believe how long the color lasted. I’m willing to bet that it stayed on until around 7 with no reapplication. That’s a first–I don’t think I’ve ever had a lip color last that long.
This would get a 5 from me, but TBH, the tingling sensation and (I can’t believe I’m writing this) the longevity actually bother me a little. I’m going to road test this a little longer.

Hello Sailor Lip Gloss calls itself a “blueberry mauve”. To me, “mauve” usually indicates a mellow gray-lavender, but Hello Sailor becomes is a vibrant orchid-violet. The gloss is a richer, more vivid color in comparison to the Hello Sailor Lipstick, which is pale, sheer cobalt that turns lilac on lips. This gloss is smooth, moisturizing, non-sticky, and lip enhancing. It feels a lot like a serum, rather than a typcial lip product. I haven’t noticed any tingling sensation that others have mentioned. After reading reviews that said this tingled, I concentrated to see if I felt anything, and I just don’t…I don’t know why. I looked at the ingredients, and they seem to be moisturizers, wax, pigments, and octinoxate (Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate) sunscreen. If you are allergic to, or sensitive to non-physical sunscreens, you might want to give this a good try on the back of your hand or something before applying it to your lips. One application lasts all day…it’s shocking how long it lasts by itself and how long it seals on color worn beneath it. (It looks marvelous with Frog Prince!) I am always drawn to the ingenuity of this brand. I get cosmetics and art all in one package and I enjoy this thoroughly.
