I’d been eyeballing this gloss in the shade “Toffee” for a while at Target, but never made the plunge until today, and I’m so glad I did!
First off, this is a mostly clearly gloss with a very pretty, somewhat dense shimmer packed into it. It’s not huge chunks of glitter, but it doesn’t look like a frost either. It’s in between the two, really. “Toffee” is a sort of warm-toned shimmer, but each reflect has a different color to it, so it has a lot of dimension, especially when in direct light. It doesn’t really add any color to my lips.
The formula is to die for though. It’s not sticky, but it’s kind of thick and plush, like a gel. It’s incredibly comfortable and luxurious, and keeps my lips very hydrated. The thickness of the formula makes my lip lines look even and filled in, rather than accentuated. Since it’s not a thin, greasy formula, I find that it stays on really well, but also doesn’t need a demolition crew to remove like some stickier glosses might. In my opinion, this is the perfect formula.
The packaging is gorgeous. I love Pixi’s simple, clean-looking packaging. It reminds me of their Fairy Lights eye glitters. Sturdy, attractive, and minimalist.
You don’t get much for the price though. It’s $14 USD at Target, and you get 3.5g of product, which is less than most other glosses. It’s not terrible, and since I don’t need to reapply every few minutes, I suppose it’s not bad, but for that money, I feel like there should be 5g of product to make this comparable to other glosses in this price range. So I’m a little bummed about that. However, I’ll still repurchase. I’m just hoping it’ll go on sale.
