I have this in Sunlight and while I do enjoy it there are some definite issues with it.
I use Sunlight mixed with a lite moisturizer or mixed directly into my foundation. It makes an excellent primer. It leaves my skin smoothe for foundation, and it gives a subtle iridescent glow that doesn’t emphasize texture. I like that it’s a subtle glow instead of just glitter. It gives a dewy look that I sometimes just wear on its own without foundation. When I do wear it as a primer under makeup it makes my foundation last. Mixed into my foundation it gives me a nice dewy finish.
Now for the negatives. This leaves a tint to the skin if you do not dilute it. Sunlight is a dark gold. If I do not mix it into my foundation or moisturizer it will leave a dark golden cast to my skin. Mixed it applies completely fine and leaves no noticeable tint.
As a final complaint, I think this is overpriced. It is a lovely primer, but it’s not the only one I like on the market. And you don’t get a lot of product for the price point.
I only repurchase this when I catch it on sale.

I was in Winners the other day and ran into some hot Kevyn Aucoin products and the prices were so affordable that I wanted to try some of them. I got this liquid highlighter in the sunlight shade I believe which is more bronzy… It is too dark for my face I would be trying it for my body. But it was so hard to blend on top of my foundation when I tried it. I’m not a fan of it at all but will try to mix with the foundation of primer. The pakxaging is cute though. But I would not repurchase it. Hope you found my review helpful. If so, please hit the helpful button. Thanks so much for reading.

I’ve used samples of this in Candlelight and it gives a nice glow when mixed with primer and /or foundation. I don’t use it for highlighting but it would be nice for a subtle effect which is my preference. I have noticed a single random piece of glitter from time to time which is annoying but not a deal breaker. If this wasn’t so ridiculously expensive I’d buy a full size but there are cheaper options that perform just as well if not better. Nice product but overpriced

I received a reasonably sized sample of this in the colour Starlight from Space NK and was interested to play around with it. I’m astonished at how expensive this is for something that has very little pay off!
Starlight is a darkish pinky peach, a beautiful colour but being very pale I thought would be too dark to use as a highlighter on me. This wasn’t a problem as it is honestly SO sheer. The finish is very very natural when used on the cheekbones/under the eyebrow/tip of the nose etc, which is nice but honestly Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector is still natural but has better pay off and is considerably cheaper.
According to the description this is can be used like all the other liquid illuminators on the market, either as directly as a highlighter, as an illuminating primer/base, or mixed in with foundation. Despite claiming to never be glittery/shimmery, the shimmer/glitter particles are so obvious I would be really surprised if this could ever be used all over the face by anyone.
The best use I found for this, as the other reviewer mentioned, was mixed in with my cream blushes. It really is beautiful used like that (especially with the Chanel cream blush in ‘Cheeky’) but then so is every other liquid illuminating product I’ve tried.

This is a solid product, but I kind of expected much more from it. It didn’t look very pigmented or very highlighty swatched on my hand, so I tried using this as an illuminating primer on my entire face (which the description says it is good for). I was honestly surprised by how bad this blended out. It didn’t work at all as a primer, it clings to dry patches, and overall applies super patchy, much worse than some drugstore illuminating primers they sell at the drugstore. I had some bare spots, as well as chunks of too much product that couldn’t be blended out on other spots. 0 points. As a liquid highlighter, it doesn’t work (for me) at all either. I have the shade candlelight, and while the undertone of this product looks perfect for my skin tone, it is almost invisible for example under the brow bone or the bridge of the nose. Even for a subtle no make up look, this won’t do anything. It is nothing like Becca’s liquid Shimmering Skin Perfector, which blends out perfectly and is much more versatile, plus is much cheaper.
The only way I loved using this product was mixed with a face oil, moisturizer or foundation. The other product will distribute this in a way you will get a beautiful, natural looking sheen or glow that makes you look younger and healthier. I will continue using this mixing it with other products, but at this pricepoint (52 dollars!), this should be capable of doing much more.
Pro:
– mixes well with other liquids, creates beautiful glow in combination with other product
Con:
– doesn’t work as a highlighter
– doesn’t work as a primer by itself
– applies patchy by itself
– expensive
– I have the feeling the smell has changed, less long lasting than similar products of other brands
