This was too dark for my waterline, as was the Rimmel ScandalEyes one. The swatches online look much lighter; it’s more of a shimmery peachy pink than a nude color. Will probably try the NYX Wonder Pencil next and use this as an eyeshadow.

I added my review to the bulk section for this line, but I especially love this shade so I’ll also add one here.
Some background:
I had seen this line and they looked like nice gel pencils but I preferred the colors of Nyx Slide Ons and thicker intense black liners so I didn’t give it much thought. What drew me in was the highlight shade, which looked nice. A lot of brands chose a white or iridescent color for highlight pencils and I prefer a more pink champagne color.
But I was using a lip crayon from Sally’s for like, $2 for an eye highlight and I loved it. I thought it was such a clever and cheap beauty hack. It was really soft and got on my lashes but I just brushed it out. But, I guess the company realized it was a really ugly lip color (lol) so they discontinued it! So I went to get this during a sale to see if it could really replace it.
Onto the review:
Formula: It is soft, but I’m used to that with gel pencils. I don’t think it comes off all over or stays on so long that you can’t remove it. It just seems normal to me, comfortable in the water line and not irritating. A lot gel pencils don’t stay in the water line too well but I haven’t had an issue with this yet. I also previously had Ulta brand in the color Halo which didn’t stay as well and was a whiteish color. Nice, but not my favorite. I also don’t mind the small amount of lash transfer because it does it a lot less than the lip crayon I used previously. So formula is fine for me, better than some other brands.
Color wise, I love this. It’s perfect. It’s not as noticeable as my crayon was because that was far more waxy and thick (and probably bad for my eyes, tbh). But color wise they are identical. I swatched a lot of other pencils and jumbo eyeshadow pencils and this was the closest to what I used and liked already. The shade is pretty unique. I couldn’t find another pencil similar from high end or drugstore brands, as evident from the fact that I was using a lip crayon for the past few years…lol.
I didn’t want to review until I tried to sharpen it, so that’s what I did. I’ve seen black ‘pencils’ that are made of some kind of smoother wood than the regular pencils are, but this (at least my version) is not a black wood pencil, but actual plastic. I also asked the girls at the store if you can just sharpen the plastic and they were like, yup. And it was completely fine for me. I don’t know if it’s the sharpener, but I have a small completely metal one (also from Sally’s) that works amazingly for every pencil I use. It doesn’t make a super fine point, but it gets through the plastic like a breeze. Plus with this, you don’t really need a fine point if you keep it on your water line and inner corner. It also does work great on the bow of the lips lol I love that trick too. In a desperate pinch you could even smudge it under your brow or in other highlight areas if you don’t have a real highlighter powder.
So yes, highly recommend.

This is such a cool liner and “Trick” to have in your stash. I love it for reasons that are really unusual, so here goes!
I found this a few months ago at a drugstore and thought it looked like the perfect option for adding some oomph to my eye area. Sallow and boring, my eyes needed some pizzazz. Texturally, this liner is so perfectly smooth. It’s truly like butter, yet it doesn’t come close to breaking. The casing is that sort of “plasticky wood” stuff. It’s that dark substance that isn’t like pencil-wood (lol). Hopefully this makes sense, but essentially, it seems more like a plastic and is really smooth/easy to use in a sharpener.
Well – aside from being very beautiful to see, i put it on my eyes and focused on the inner corner of bottom lash line, then upper corner of top lash line. Gorgeous! But it did look sort of bright. However, i could sort of smudge it across the lower lid, and voila! instant jazzing up of eye shadow area.
But wait: there’s more!
On my quest for a perfectly frosty lip, one that is NOT sparkles, and one that has some decency (i.e. not XXX-star)…I decided to lightly glide it over my lips, which had been coated with one simple coat of a Bobbi Brown nude lipstick.
Suddenly, the angels parted from the clouds and I had a beautiful, perfectly luminous and effervescent lip look. It wasn’t chalky, “corpsey”, or gritty on. It perfectly lit up my lips, making them look like something you’d see some supermodel in Brazil wearing. SO PRETTY. Not vulgar, I promise.
I have been looking for a frosty lip for so long, and now i can make this easily on my own, with many shades. OH and i never/rarely need to sharpen. A little goes a long way. Putting this on your upper lip “bow” is perfection!! And it doesn’t dry my lips at all. Maybe wearing a lipstick underneath is key.
At $9 or so, I bought 3 total of this color and 1 of silver, which I plan to use on my actual eyes.
These seem like they’ll be DC’d sometime soon, so grab now if you have the inclination. Try them in different ways…don’t be shy! You might find some sort of HG in this little product.
