Rouge Bunny Rouge where have you been all my life. I cannot get enough of this brand. I’m so glad it’s now more affordable for us US gals on beauty habbit. I am an NC25 and I though this would be too dark on me, but it’s perfect. It reminds me a little of becca moonstone, but the shimmer is more delicate. The packaging is beautiful and hygienic, but the pump dispenses too much. I might use a sample jar to save the excess that gets pumped out. Overall, huge rave. I also live seas of Trainquility.

Gorgeous!! My favourite shade of RBR’s liquid highlighters! I too agree with the company’s shade description, Sea of Showers is a honeyed white-gold.
——————————-
Pros:
——————————-
1) Highly pigmented
2) Very blendable
3) Long-lasting
4) Multi-use (they can also be mixed with your foundation or body lotion to give a subtle glow to the face or body respectively, they can be used on the lid as a wash of colour, they can work as eyeshadow-base and you can also mix/layer them with your lip products)
5) They don’t settle into pores/fine lines – i’ve actually notice that they provide a blurring effect rather than accentuating pores/fine lines
6) The bottle they come in has a pump which is great from a hygienic aspect
———————————–
Cons:
———————————–
1) You must be careful when squeezing the pump, because it can dispense a lot of product
———————————–
Price/Value:
———————————–
51Euro for 30mL/1.01oz
Don’t be put off by the price, since one bottle will last you a long time, even if you use it daily, since you need a tiny amount of product every time considering how pigmented they are. I’ve had my bottle of Sea of Showers for a little more than one year, i’ve been using it very often too and it’s not even close to 50% yet!

One of the few products that have reached HG status for me (by the way, i have all 4) and i will keep repurchasing them for as long as they keep making them!
**For reference, i am NC17, neutral-leaning-yellow undertones with combination skin that is extremely clog & blemish- prone

This was too dark for me (Im nc15)
It looks like a failed attempt to bronze my cheekbones 🙁
Theres alot of shimmer in this h/l. Its almost metallic, it did not look natural on my oily skin.
I love the Becca SSP in pearl. Its more natural looking.
I swapped mine away since the bottle is so big! I would never be able to finish it.

This review is for Rouge Bunny Rouge Seas of Illumination Highlighting Liquid in Sea of Showers. That is quite a mouthful, isn’t it? Anyway, down to business. Oh and as a disclaimer- I have tried a handful of Rouge Bunny Rouge products, which are largely, in my opinion, overpriced bottles and packages of “meh.” Rouge bunny rouge excels at giving a very diffused, soft, you-but-better look. A lot of products can do that for half the price (for example, any number of mineral makeup products on the market)…although they won’t come with the overly whimsical names or added luxury. To me, its really the end result that matters most, not the bottle it came out of or the label or price. So, my opinions about their products are probably not going to be the most popular around here. But their eyeshadows ARE worth it and unique.
ANYWAY. I bought this after reading all of the hype on the beauty board and read the description of SOS, which said a warm, peachy gold highlighter. Since, I tend to look really good in peach colored anything, I took the plunge. The bottle is truly gorgeous and the pump is high quality…very luxurious. The first time I applied this product, I used a full pump on the back of my hand and applied with a foundation brush. I looked like King Midas…my husband walked by and asked why I looked like I had dipped my face in liquid gold. This highlighter is overall too dark, too metallic and too orange toned for my face, even when I do manage to squeeze out 1/4 of a pump and mix it with my foundation. NC25 is the most universal description I can give for my skin tone, although I tend to be more peaches and cream and MAC doesn’t really have a shade for that. The product itself is really lovely. It feels silky and smooth and has a nice, very light fragrance. I might like it if I had actually managed to get a lighter shade that would work better for me, but we don’t have a counter here and I’m not willing to spend another $70 to try and find a better match. Part of me wonders if these are all strongly metallic looking anyway. I know these get a lot of love, and trust me I wanted to love this, but when you end up throwing a 70 dollar highlighter in the trash, you tend to hate it.

Finally a highlighter for grown ups. No huge pieces of glitter or or dense sparkle. It blends easily, but it does set faster than Becca’s SSPs. No oily/slick feeling or look about this either. RBR calls it “Honeyed white gold” which is a very accurate description.
The price is a bit steep, but a Zuneta code helps. If you think of it, it’s really along the lines of the recent LE highlighters, that Guerlain and others have been churning out.
