First, I am really pleased that Dior repackaged and re-priced these (taking out the little kabuki brush that used to come with EVERY highligher and was reflected in a higher price). I didn’t really need this product but it was too darned pretty to resist. A few years ago, I purchased their LE Glowing Gardens Glowing Pink highlighter (or “luminizer”) and I just love it as a perfect shade for my fair and cool toned skin. This newer one is very similar in colour, which is mostly why I wanted it. I do find this one to be a fair bit more shimmery and, at first, I wasn’t going to buy it for that reason but when I tried it in-store and then buffed out with a small, somewhat dense brush, I was really happy with the subtle glow that was left behind. This can give a more intense effect for evening or if that is the sort of look I’m going for (not often) but with this gentle buffing, what is left behind is an angelic sort of glow and I love it.

Besides the packaging that is to die for this is nice but nothing to write home about & it’s a bit too subtle for my taste. It’s very good for daytime but I have to build it up to a ridiculous extent to have it show for an evening makeup so I’d rather not bother using it for a night look. The shade is good for my NC15 skin.

Bought this on the basis of all the glowing reviews online. It’s beautiful in the case, and all feels very luxurious, but I truly don’t understand those who say it’s subtle or natural looking? It’s glittery — disco ball glittery in sunshine. Perhaps it’s only meant to be worn at night? I don’t know, all I know is, Becca’s liquid highlighter, (“Shimmering Skin Perfector”) while a bit more trouble to apply, really DOES create a subtle shimmer without glitter. This, as pretty as it is, didn’t, and thus I had to return it.

I can agree with the previous reviewer. When it’s winter i’m very pale, probably like nc15 or so. This pale pinky shade is perfect and doesn’t look too yellow, like most of the highlighters I own do (Mary Lou, Champagne Pop). This highlighter looks so beautiful, when the light hits it, it has that kinda wet look which i love. Most highlighters just look like shiny powders on your face, this looks like it belongs to your skin. Love it!

You may ask yourself why you need a $56 highlighter. You don’t need a $56 highlighter but this one is really good. If you are medium to deeper skin tone then I wouldn’t waste your money on an expensive highlighter because most highlighters will look good on you. I am pale and I have the curse of 90% of highlighters being too dark on me. I love the ABH glow palettes but I can use one color as a highlight if I’m lucky, except for the moon child palette but that one is not suitable to everyday. I decided to splurge and buy this and I’m glad I did. It comes in 4 colors. I decided on 002 because it’s a cool toned pinky champagne shade and I feel like I look better with a pinker highlight. The texture is soft and buttery. It glides on the skin and creates a beautiful glow. it doesn’t look chalky or glittery. Its just beautiful on the skin. I don’t want anything to accentuate texture and this just lays nicely over my makeup. It’s the best highlighter I’ve tried so far. The packaging is stunning. it’s in a silver compact and it looks expensive. It’s a nice splurge item and I don’t mind the price since I use this daily and as long as I don’t drop it and shatter the product (which I’ve been known to do) then this will last a long time.
