This was a really subtle Illuminator. I mix it in with my nars sheer glow foundation and it gives me such a healthy natural subtle glow. I didn’t realise I was using it for 2 years which I don’t think U’re supposed to do. At the end of using it, the formula probably changed so it became streaky and enlarged my pores. So just use it for a year and even if u don’t finish it, throw and buy a new one.

NARS illuminator in Copacabana is a very nice pearly liquid highlighter. It is incredibly versatile, as you can use it on your face pre-foundation as an illuminating primer, mix it with your favorite foundation for a more glowy finish or then use it as a glowy highlight on top of your foundation. I find that it mixes well with all sorts of different foundations without separating or such. Also when used as a liquid highlighter, I never have to worry about it disturbing the foundation underneath. Despite the mostly natural sheeny finish, it is a very pigmented product. You really need half or maybe even 1/3 of a pea to get a beautiful glow!
It is expensive, 30+ €, but it does come in a 30 ml (average foundation size) tub, which will last you forever, as like mentioned before, one needs such a small amount. I have had mine since 2015/16 and still have about 1/3+ left. The great thing about this formula is also the fact that it is very long lasting, as in, I haven’t had to be worried about the product going off on me. Because it is so long lasting, I also think it is well worth the higher price tag.
I really enjoy using this illuminator and when I am finished with this, I will repurchase. Highly recommendable!

You know, I don’t hate this product. I don’t even dislike it. I’m going to continue using it sparingly. However, the reason I could only give it 3/5 is because the day after I use it my skin is always a bit irritated. Like, it looks like if I continued using it multiple days in a row I would break me out but because I never do use it that often it never actually quite gets there. A little goes a long way with this but it’s pretty expensive at $30 for a tiny bottle and because of the issue with the irritation I would not repurchase. Looks wise, as I said I don’t dislike it. I haven’t used it that often and I don’t put a lot on but I do crack it open on special occasions and even if it doesn’t make a huge difference I feel sort of fancy using it.

I have warm olive-toned skin, but I’m very pale. Gold tones have an odd way of disappearing on my skin, while most pinks just don’t look right. Nars Hot Sand provides a beautiful natural glow, but sometimes I want a bolder effect. I would never have thought to try a cool silvery pastel pink on my skin tone, but I got a free sample of Copacabana and I’m smitten.
My favorite thing of all is to use this on dark circles. Not only do I have dark purple Mediterranean under eyes, but the hollows are quite round and make the darkness more noticeable. After applying color corrector and foundation, I dab just a tiny bit of Copacabana along the darkest outer part of my eye circles, then apply my concealer over that. It makes a huge difference in not looking like I’m suffering from consumption. This illuminator is also the absolute perfect shade for brightening up the eyelid and blurring out slightly visible capillaries.
The only down side is that this sets very quickly. Faster than the Hot Sand Illuminator for sure. I have dry skin, and I find that it tends to break up my foundation or make it ball up, whereas Hot Sand does not.

Ok, let’s not kid ourselves, Im not young and totally wrinkle free. I was scared of illuminating imperfections of which there are too many.
This stuff is great on my oily skin. You need to apply quickly because it sets quickly. It will not budge. That fact that it is very sheer is part of why it is soo good. No chalkiness or sparkly bits.
I apply all over the upper eye area and on the tops of cheekbones. Now I only use a teeny amount that results in a soft natural looking illumination. I call it a youthful glow lol
Girls over 40 should give this a whirl. Obviously don’t put it anywhere near lines etc.

Way too pink, also cannot be worn over foundation without breaking the foundation underneath apart and drys before you can blend it in.

Nars Illuminator in Copacabana is one of my all time favourite highlighters!
Copacabana is a cool toned pink with silver shimmers, which looks beautiful against my very pale skin. It goes on very smoothly, lasts all day and you only need a very small amount. My favourite way to wear this is to mix it in with Thebalm Tinted Moisturiser, it gives my skin a really natural and healthy glow, I have received many compliments whilst wearing this.
Here are my pro’s and con’s:
Pros:
*Beautiful cool toned pink shade, that compliments my very pale skin tone without any orange or glitter overload.
*You get 30ml and only need to use a small amount so it works out reasonably priced.
*Goes goes very smooth, not patchy or difficult to blend.
*It dries quickly and doesn’t budge all day.
*Doesn’t cause breakouts or emphasise dry patches/imperfections.
Cons:
To be honest I don’t have any cons on this product. I suppose the price is a bit expensive however I do think it is absolutely worth it, my 30ml tube will last me a very long time I’d say!
Highly recommended highlighter and yes, I most definitely would re-purchase!

So impressed with this product, you only need the smallest amount to create a really great dewy and thoroughly highlighted look. I used to use high beam all the time and fancied a change and this was just as good if not better, blends very well but does set quite quickly so blend it in as soon as it goes on. It is slightly paler than high beam but I feel that improves my contour and brightens up my eye.
I do feel the quality of what is underneath the highlighter impacts copacabana more than high beam as it tends to get stuck in my drug store concealer more than high beam. On top of my more luxury products it looks amazing however. Beauty blender or fingertips work well to blend it in.
The product always lasts all day or night.
You can make it as subtle or noticeable as you like depending on how you like your highlighter.
Was really pleased overall.

I really love this product. I have dehydrated skin that lacks a glow and this gives that healthy sheen I search for!
ADVANTAGES:
– Plenty of actual product – 30ml (the amount in an average foundation bottle).
– Very versatile! You can wear this under, over or mixed in with foundation.
– Gives a gorgeous glow – in my opinion, very natural, but can be built up to a more intense sheen.
– A little goes a very long way!
– Transparent packaging so you can keep track on when you need to repurchase.
DISADVANTAGES:
– Not a huge fan on how the packaging actually looks – very practical for squeezing out the right amount of product but a bottle & pump would look more expensive.
– Speaking of expensive… VERY pricey! Although I love the finished result, £23 is a lot for a highlighter.
– Be careful not to apply powder on top/underneath it because the glow will be dulled and blending can be patchy.

Whoever said Copacabana doesn’t suit a warm Asian complexion was so wrong!
I’m a bit of a highlighter fiend and was using Benefit’s Sun Beam before I discovered this.
I am always complimented for how dewy I look when I’m wearing it and have convinced a friend (who’s a make up artist) to also buy it.
The only thing that annoys me about this product is the packaging. I feel like it should have some sort of nozzle on the end as it would reduce the wastage of product hugely.
