These are very similar to the Spacepastes (which I also reviewed), but a tiny bit less concentrated. I originally had glitter eyelids most in mind when I hauled a bunch of Lemonhead LA, and it takes a bit more product and precision to do that with the Glowjams. Doesn’t matter; they’re still opaque in a couple of passes. I love them and have found creative ways of using them, which the excellent base always facilitates. Maybe it’s just because I extra like bright colors, but I think they’re particularly worth the hype.
Hollyweird – Fuchsia toned almost neon hot pink with some bluish-purple iridescence. It looks flat coral under UV light, really stunning as a fluorescent. What impresses me most about Spacepastes is that the colors are really loud and beautiful in their own rights, in normal light. Hollyweird is great anywhere you’d wear hot pink – it’s amazing as a lip highlight.
Electric Daze – True neon yellow with some green iridescence. It looks slightly more greenish yellow under UV light, but the pigment itself is a true yellow, not a Mtn Dew color. If you like yellows, it’s pretty special. Electric Daze is a bit chunkier than Hollyweird and has a spotted/freckle effect under blacklight. I like to dab a tiny bit in the outer corners and blend so that it’s just a faint glimmer here and there, which is also pretty with the NSFW Spacepaste.
As mentioned, they’re UV reactive. I was able to test this for myself without leaving the house, because Glowjam orders come with a tiny “blacklight” keychain clip. I can think of a half dozen jokes about how useful a blacklight keychain could actually be in this day and age, but it’s a cute little gimmick anyway.
