I’m still very much in love with the rainbow highlighter look even after the trend faded. It’s still pretty for summer festivals, carnivals, parties, a night out on the town, etc. What I love about this one is that it’s affordable and natural looking. The finish is pearly/shimmery with enough pigment but still semi-transparent so you’re not walking around with harsh stripes. You can build it up to your desire, and if rainbow highlight isn’t your thing you can wear these as eye shadows. Or you can use each individual shade for a highlight such as the yellow for a gold highlight or the orange for a more bronzey highlight. The options are endless!

The rainbow highlighter trend is just up my alley, makeup-wise, I guess it’s up my makeup-alley, lol. But at the moment I cant afford to get one of the high end ones like Too Faced’s or the original from Bitter Lace Beauty. So of course I was delighted to find this one for $4 at Walmart. While this is supposed to be “festival makeup” I don’t care, I will wear this look winter or summer, to school or concert. Upon opening it up I found that it doesn’t really work well to apply the rainbow with a regular round blush/powder brush. I imagine you need a flat brush, like the cute rainbow one Too Faced sells to go with theirs. I however, improvised by using a large eyeshadow brush and just applying the colors one by one. This gave me admirable control over the colors, allowing me to apply more of the less noticeable shades like the yellow and orange. I do wish the powder was more creamy and opaque, as the Bitter Lace highlighter looks to be in photos. The Wet n Wild version gives a more sheer and subtle look than what I would prefer. So I would still like to get the Bitter Lace one eventually, or perhaps try and make my own. I do think the colors in the Wet N Wild highlighter are prettier than other inexpensive rainbow highlighters like Ulta’s. And it is by far the cheapest rainbow highlighter I have seen. It looks nice on, I am pleased with the effect it gives, so although I would not repurchase, I am glad I bought this and have enjoyed wearing it.

I really like this highlighter, but the only complaint I have is that the dark blue shade seems to overpower the other colors when I apply it on my face. I really like the shimmer in the warm colored shades and I feel like I could use this in many different ways. I also like the packaging, which reminds me of the Physician’s Formula face powders. For about $5, I would say it’s worth a try.

I adore, adore, ADORE this! It’s “festival” makeup, I know. But I use it everyday. The mulit colored pallet pretty much contains your blush, eyeshadow and highlighter if you want a soft look. My favorite way to use it is to take one color at a time on an eyeshadow brush, and build a very subtle rainbow over my cheekbones in the highlighting area. Inside, it just looks like a nice highlight. Outside, it is a shimmering, pastel rainbow of color appears! Absolutely whimsical and demure. I purchased mine online at the website for $5, it isn’t sold in stores.

I bought one of these when they first came out and I really liked it. I didn’t really use it for the “rainbow” highlight look much, but I liked it as eyeshadow, and I swirled it around and applied it lightly as highlighter. Then it broke so I mixed it all together and re pressed it and it’s a really pretty teal color. I re purchased it in the unicorn glow box and I’m glad I did.

This is a nice, inexpensive rainbow highlighter. It does take about two sweeps for it to show up well though. I even sometimes slightly dampen the brush to get a better color payoff. The colors can be used in line as a rainbow, used one by one separately, or swirled all together; either way it looks very nice. Even though I do like this, and I may repurchase, I’m going to try out other brands. But, it’s definitely worth trying if your looking for a unique highlighter.
