This is one of the Ofra highlighters that are sweeping the Youtube tutorials and influencers. Along with Jeffree Star and other brands, people are reviewing “blinding” highlighters that add megawatts of shine compared to standard products such as MAC Skinfinish that add glow but not a highlight like a laser beam hit your face. Any good? Any different?
Yes. Completely different. You get a shiny, almost foiled if you use a brush, and a finger can foil on the eyelids. Ofra has many colors from white of white to tan and Blissful looks pinkish flesh in pictures but reads gold in sunlight. In artificial (incandescent) light it’s more pinkish but the photos are not accurate. It’s a gold with pink or warm overtones.
The shine is going to reveal some pores (can’t help that, if your pores are below the surface and the surface is shining, there is the contrast.) But I tried it also on my forehead and wow, if you want a glowy face for whatever reason, it works well.
Big pan (unless you buy a mini) and not particularly cheap (about $36 unless you find a sale as I did on Nordstrom Rack.) Compact is solid, well-made and not flimsy. You can buy “godets” to fit in a palette and you can buy palettes of different colors.
It looks to me that “Blissful” is a tad darker than “Glazed Donut” so if you have one, I’d doubt you need both.
If you haven’t tried a “blinding” highlighter, then this is a great choice and look for some sales. Ofra site also has coupons, etc so you can try this out for less than full price if it’s a ‘one-off” not a staple of your makeup kit.
I give it full marks for texture (creamy powder) ease of application (big textured pan, brush can move over it) and finish on skin (glowy to blinding) and versatility (face, eyes, even lips.)
