Surprisingly, I think the Finesse line of shampoos and conditioners may be my all-time favorite. I have fine, thin, colored, wavy hair, and it gets weighted and tangled easily. Finesse Volumizing Shampoo makes my hair shiny, bouncy and soft, and it has noticeable swing and movement during the day. No frizzies, tangles, or build-up here, and I shampoo every day. Smells great, lots of lather, and dirt cheap. The only caveat with this shampoo is that during the winter, using this and the Volumizing Conditioner gives my hair static, so I use the Color Care Conditioner with this shampoo, or the Color Care Shampoo with Volumizing Conditioner, and the static lessens. A very small quibble, as I have static during the winter with every product line. All in all, I’m so happy to have found perfect haircare, and for so cheap. Every day is an awesome hair day since I’ve started using this line.

Finesse shampoos are one of my DS favorites. I love the scent and how it gives my hair body and shine. I have silky hair but sometimes it needs a little “oomph” and Finesse will do it. A definite repurchase and staple for me!

I’m on an eternal quest for volume :). This is very average in every way. I also am not a fan of the smell (imo, it’s banana scented). I have tried many other brands and they felt the same as this (Chi & Big Sexy Hair are a couple). This doesn’t make my hair greasy, which is nice, and my hair does get clean. I’ll be using this up and my search continues.

I picked this up because I wanted a moisturizing shampoo (yes) and heard this one was better for that than the actual moisture one. I usually don’t spend a lot but I was getting overly dry with my other ones and even though I use really good deep conditioners, I thought maybe it was time for a nicer shampoo. I also need one that actually cleans, though. I don’t have luck with sulfate free (at least not every time, maybe alternating) and I need something that can actually clean my scalp and buildup without drying my hair to death. I know a shampoo isn’t going to fix the dryness, but I also thought the ingredients looked pretty good
So I got this. As a shampoo it’s not bad. I thought it cleaned ok, nothing will really get me build up free that doesn’t kill my hair it seems, but it also didn’t overly dry me out. So far so good. But the one thing I could not stand was the smell. Ugh It smells horrible, like a cheap sorority party. I can’t stand that fake, sweet smell. I mean, it goes away, but I really dislike it. I also remember thinking if it was ok, I would get it during the liter sale but I wasn’t impressed enough even aside from the smell. I mean it wasn’t bad at all, just not WOW either. I noticed almost every time I used it, I had done a coconut oil soak before and that made my hair feel much better than it would have/did with the shampoo alone. But because I got the small one for closer to full price, I returned it and bought a liter of something else that was on sale. I just can’t do the smell for ‘average’. If it didn’t smell bad, I might get this again on sale but the smell really does kill it for me. I think the one I got next (Sebastian Penetraitt) is just as good or better anyway.

At first I liked it bc it smells good and did an ok job getting a little volume in my fine, limp hair. HOWEVER, I think I’m allergic to an ingredient bc I’ve had a large red and irritated flakey patch by my crown hairline…..I used a tea tree oil to help clear it up but now I’m weary

I read this was the same shampoo as the highly rated Elucence hydrating shampoo on Curlmart for just a few dollars more. Kenra makes Elucence so I thought why not since I didn’t want to to order Elucence. And I really like this shampoo. I like it’s light peachy scent and how it handles my fine wavy hair. does not weigh my hair down, no straw texture, and cleans gently. A win all around.

This is my all-time favorite shampoo and I equally love the matching conditioner. My hairdresser has used this on me for years and after drugstore shampoos just didn’t work for me anymore, I decided to splurge and purchase this shampoo. Before I started using this, my hair was extremely dry and coarse feeling. I have long, thick, straight hair and it had become a frizzy, tangly mess. After the first use I noticed a difference. I don’t necessarily use this for volume because my hair is already pretty thick, but the moisturizing benefits from it are amazing and became evident after the first use and have continued since finishing my first bottle. This shampoo isn’t one that stops working after a few uses. I would definitely recommend this shampoo and in my opinion, it’s worth the hefty price tag ($23 for the large bottle of shampoo and $31 for the conditioner at Ulta.) My hair has been totally transformed and is now silky, shiny, soft, and tangle-free. It also smells amazing! 🙂

This shampoo is great, leaves my hair feeling clean, not coated like some of the more pricey shampoos. The reason I’m giving my review though is because I finally figured out what Kenra shampoo smells like, it’s Plumeria, the scent that bath and body works used to carry, it was the best scent bath and body works ever had in my opinion. Well that’s my favorite thing about this shampoo, the plumeria scent.

I have personally purchased this shampoo several times and it has been my favorite volumizing shampoo that I have tried (and I would say I’ve tried over 10 shampoos trying to achieve thicker hair). I will say, I haven’t been wedded to Kenra products for my entire life or anything like that. The stylist at the salon where I purchased it recommended it to me and I trusted her opinion so I picked it up and I am SO glad I did. The fragrance is like banana or bubble gum? I know that sounds weird but I enjoy it. I noticed in some other reviews that people mentioned tangling and frizzing and I could see how that might be possible if you didn’t use a conditioner, but I always do since I have hair that reaches my lower back. I can feel the results of this shampoo even after getting out of the shower and I recommend it to everyone I know. I also have an oily scalp and this shampoo leaves it squeaky clean, literally! So pleased with this. The packaging is nothing special, just a silver bottle with black writing but don’t let the boring appearance fool you.

My new favorite shampoo! & trust me I switch shampoos a lot. My hair is really limp & treated with the ion brand of color so I wanted something from the same brand to help preserve it. This shampoo is a thick, clear gel which really helps me to know that my hair is getting clean with no build up left behind. It leaves my hair so touchably soft & is actually pretty moisturizing for being a volume shampoo. It’s drugstore priced at $7 a bottle but is pretty hard to come by since my local sally’s is a good 15 minutes away from me. Worth it though. Never loved a shampoo more.

I just went out and bought a liter of this shampoo at Sally’s. It was on sale this month, so I stocked up. I would have bought 2 liters, but the store only had one in stock. This Ion Volumizing Shampoo is nice. I have tested many shampoos from Sally’s, and this one along with another volumizing shampoo are their two best volumizing shampoo’s. Some volumizing shampoos have not worked for me. I rotate my shampoos because I know that my hair gets build-up on it, so I rotate to prevent that from happening. This Ion Volumizing one is one of my favorites, and I use it at least 3-4 times a week . It is also gentle and non-stripping. I highly recommened for fine hair, and also blonde hair.

This shampoo really works to give my thin, fine hair a lot of volume. It is drying and leaves my hair tangled, but I use It’s a Ten spray (which kind of defeats the inexpensiveness of the shampoo).

Found this at the .99cents store…lol. I bought the shampoo and conditioner because it said volumizing. I used to use Finesse back in the day. I have to say I love the way my hair feels after I use the volumizing shampoo twice and then the conditioner. I have more bounce and shine and softness in my hair. As I get older, my hair is thinning and its hard to get volume when you don’t have a lot to volumize. This combo made me feel less self-conscious about my thinning hair. My husband also likes the way it smells (always a plus). I didn’t even have to put any product in my hair. I just let it air dry and fluffed it with my fingers every once in a while. Do not tie your hair in a ponytail or anything if you can avoid it….just while it’s drying. That will defeat the purpose of volume. Once it’s dry I can put it in a ponytail and not end up looking like my hair is slicked back. I have a ponytail and a little pouf on top. Gorge! =) Needless to say, I will be buying more.

This is a great shampoo for fine or oily hair, or if you want to remove build-up. I love the smell, it reminds me of the 80s. You can buy this for under $5 at drugstore.com, but this volumizing version is hard to find in stores. I do need to use a little bit of conditioner with this one, or I use the texture enchancing formula on the second lathering to reduce tangling. Overall, a good clarifying shampoo that gives body. Probably not for those with dry or chemically treated hair.

I’ve been using Finesse Volumizing shampoo for years after seeing a TV show which compared expensive and cheap volumizing shampoos and this beat the others. I haven’t found that the more expensive shampoos ($20+) give significantly more volume.

When I need a cheap shampoo, I go with finesse. It’s easy to find that purple bottle and you can usually get a deal on the large size. The volumizing shampoo leaves my hair soft and light.

I bought this at CVS recently (I shop there a lot but I don’t work there :o) )because it was on sale for $1.99. I love the way this smells, it makes my hair smell like perfume. It does a great job of cleansing my hair without stripping it or drying it out. This is a great shampoo for my dry, frizzy, color treated hair.

This shampoo hydrates and volumizes at the same time, which is unusual for a shampoo. There are lots of people who want volume but don’t want the drying effects of typical volumizing formulas. No need to worry with this Agadir Volumizing shampoo. It isn’t anything like other volume formulas I’ve tried, which dried my hair out over time and often left it feeling rather coated. Agadir delivers a nice amount of volume and doesn’t make the ends of my hair feel parched at all. This shampoo is sulfate free, so it’s color safe, and it cleanses really well too. It’s thick and rich and you don’t need much to work up a nice lather. I also use the Agadir Volumizing conditioner and together these two products give me a noticeable amount of volume without frizz or fuzziness. My locks are nice and smooth and I have volume at the crown and although I do use styling products, I don’t blow dry but rather let my hair air dry overnight. In the morning I use a curling iron to create loose waves and there is a noticeable amount of volume that looks really nice. My hair also looks very healthy and shiny. I do use the Agadir serum before styling products and this helps ensure I get zero frizz and also protects my hair from heated styling tools. My hair has never looked or felt better. Whenever I want extra volume, I use this shampoo and the conditioner and I can definitely tell the difference when I use them. This formula would be great for fine hair because it doesn’t add any weight at all. My hair is light and bouncy with tons of body. I discovered this brand in my local grocery store but Amazon has the best prices. My stylist also sells Agadir and the s/c are $21 apiece in the salon. They are about $11 on Amazon. I definitely recommend this volumizing formula for all hair types but fine hair would perhaps benefit the most.

It is a decent option for thin curly hair. No silicones, no parabens and a very mild sulfate (ammonium lauryl sulfate). It cleans well, smells heavenly and I think it does actually add volume. One lippie off because I’ve found another Yves Rocher shampoo which cleans slightly better and reduces oil production (the one with hamamelis).

I bought and used both the shampoo and conditioner. When used in the shower, it feels nice. When my hair dried they were very dry. I used it two times and the second time happened the same thing. I have never had such problem before, then again I have not experimented so much with my hair. If I find a line that suits me, I stick to it.
After the second use I threw both of them away.

Goldwell shampoo… bottle’s are most times very dull but the shampoo itself is great, soft and with not to much aggressive ingredients. Smells very nice and my hair liked it very much, soft and silky and you do not need much so you can do a long time with the small bottle of 250ML shampoo. Above average so try it.

This is the best shampoo under five dollars. I have tried lots of cheapies, that have left a build up in my hair. These don’t. They leave the hair nice and soft. If you don’t have to spend a fortune for great hair why bother! (Makeup, now thats a whole other story!)

When I first tried this shampoo I noticed that it seemed to be the exact same thing as kenra volumizing shampoo. Same smell, ingredients, color, consistency… It was almost strange. The liter bottles are even the same! Then I learned that elucence is manufactured by kenra. Guys, this is the exact same thing as kenra volumizing shampoo in a different bottle and for a much lower price. If you like it, buy this instead. Don’t get ripped off with kenra products, elucence ones are the same.

I’m pretty disappointed with this shampoo. My mom has used Kenra for as long as I can remember, so I had high expectations for this shampoo. Maybe my expectations were too high, but for a $15 shampoo, I’m not satisfied. It left my hair very dry, tangled, and unmanageable. It was very difficult to comb through, and it had knots in it throughout the day. I’m contemplating returning this to Ulta because I honestly don’t know if I want to continue using it. I’ll try using more conditioner tomorrow and see how it goes.

I gave it another shot, and I still don’t like this shampoo. Made my hair feel really gross today. I guess I’ll let my husband finish up the bottle and go back to Redken. 1.5/5 stars.

This isn’t a bad shampoo at all, imo, I actually quite like it. But it definitely has a couple of cons as well as pros when it comes to how it works on my hair. I have long hair that has a natural loose curl/wave to it. It’s prone to frizz and dryness without the right shampoo and/or conditioner, but it is in fairly healthy shape with the exception of just a few splits here and there at the tips. The positives I found with this shampoo are that it did add some volume, left my hair feeling soft, didn’t irritate/make my scalp itch in the slightest, lathered very well and easily with just a small amount of product (contrary to what some others found), and I like the peachy smell (it doesn’t linger so don’t worry if you don’t like it). The negatives I found were that it made my hair dull/lack shine, made my ends feel a tad rough/dry (but just the ends!), and it killed my natural waves/curls. I’ll finish up my bottle of this shampoo and may possibly repurchase, but probably not.
