A bout of alarming hair fall made me buy this. Needless to say, it didn’t work at all. Maybe it does work for people whom hair fall is related to stress, but I doubt it. I just bought it when I was at that stage where people will try anything because they are desperate or alarmed.
This shampoo smells really bad, strips the colour and gave me dandruff. I believe it also deposits red pigments on my hair, even though I am not entirely sure. It could just be really striping. Made my hair drier and looking worse.
The packaging is just stupid. The bottle is made of metal and there is no pump. As a result, the product just oozes out and some splashes on the floor. Additionally, it is not possible to squeeze the bottle, so getting the product out when it’s running low is really inconvenient. Overall, a waste of money.

Horrible Product
Let me put it straight and honest…I am always VERY happy to pay a price amount for a shampoo no matter how expensive it is, but since I pay a price I expect it to HELP my hair not to MAKE IT WORSE.
I have damaged hair, I was cutting it from time to time to get rid of some of the damaged hair, my hair is very fine and quite wavy. I was struggling for over more then one year going almost all natural and my hair improved a lot, I was doing lots of hot oil treatments instead of silicones etc, I was using through this year Klorane for hair fall and Rausch ( a swiss brand ) for oily hair, loved them both but they didnt do much to make my hair thicker, so nextlly I tried to search for a cone and sulfate free shampoo, “happily” I´ve found PhytoKERATIN…which WOW…my hair texture felt so thick!!! (Oh I forgot to mention that while I was using those Klorane and Rausch shampoo my hair didnt break anymore either because before I´ve had very breakable hair). I do daily a “strand test”, that is if I put my hands in my hair and have hairs falling (almost always sadly) I test the elasticity and the thickness…then I break it to see how strong it is…I see where the root is, I go from the root down and from the root up to feel its texture in between my fingers and then once again from the root down, then I break it…my hairs were very hard to break lately and I didnt have split-ends for quite a very while…
NOW you can understand why I say that this shampoo is NOT WORTH…especially not on a long time, try it if you want it might work for you but trust me not for long…
IT DRIES HAIR LIKE CRAZY…as you know my hair is oily very fine and wavy…this shampoo strips the oil out of my hair to its zero, so when I brush it the second day…from very dry my hair is a mess of oil but ONLY on the roots…the oil concentrates there and it barely slips on the rest of the hair (before it did, I had finally good oil distribution).
Fine hair…THAT BREAKS…after the 3d use ( yes I did use a cone free moisturizing conditioner ) my hair is breakable like before this year of struggle…it breaks it rubs and breaks even on my satin pillow…I do a strand breaking test and my hair feels like a dry spider web, sad but true, and when I try to break it I shouldnt even talk about it it breaks so easy…which shows that the months of using PhytoKERATIN was USELESS…yes my hair felt good while I used it but now…where is that thickness that I had??? How good was the shampoo if after 3 uses of this PhytoCYANE shampoo all the thickness went away?…so here is another proof of Phytos effectiveness. Should I even brag of my fine new grown baby hairs?…
Wavy texture…WHERE?…my hair is like a very used cleaning brush…straight yet frizzy, without any bit of weight of how fine and damaged it looks…
When did I write this review?…Out of my bed at 4 and a half in the morning because I woke up and when I felt again the texture of my hair, as I couldnt sleep either I just couldnt help it…I am not a writing reviews person but I do think people need to know about it before they do the same mistake…especially people with my kind of hair…maybe it works for people with thick textured hair…but not for long…if you want the shampoo´s effect on a long term…then just BLEACH your hair right now and you will have the same effect just that in a shorter matter of time.

This is just brown water…you have to be careful to not spill it allover. It does clean my hair very well, almost like a clarifying shampoo which means I need a very good conditioner to detangle my hair. It leaves my hair shiny but with many flyaways and I find it a bit drying. I won’t purchase again because it didn’t do anything for my hair loss and that was the reason I bought it plus it has Sodium Laureth Sulfate and I try to stay away from that.

This product is honestly REALLY good. BUT, i think it is only really good for people suffering from temporary hair loss. For example, I’m a seventeen year old girl and i have dyed my hair like, ridiculous amounts of times. In February this year (2011) i had my formal and wait for it…i dyed my hair 5 times within one weekend! don’t even ask…anyway my hair is thick….and al of a sudden my hair just go sooo thin. still looked thick but you could feel that i lost so much hair. my hair would fall out like crazy and you could pull out chunks of hair. i started using this and it completely stopped. my hair is now thick again and back to normal. it literally was amazing i really recommend it. but like i said…i don’t think this would work for say men hair loss or hereditary hair loss. just temporary hair loss..

I always had big, thick, coarse, curly, hair… almost too much of it! So imagine my surprise when my hair began thinning after the birth of my third child, and the thinning continued to worsen for four years. I finally decided to do something about it, and purchased this product, sold in a kit with ampoules of leave-in treatment. (Sephora no longer has the kit; I have repurchased the shampoo and treatment separately. The kit also contained supplements, but they bothered my bladder, so I didn’t use them more than a couple of times.)
Two days before starting, I collected the thick masses of hair that formed in the drain during my shower, as well as the hair that collected as I put my usual styling product in my hair (Ouidad Climate Control Gel). Then, as I began using the Phytocyane shampoo and ampules, I saved that shed hair, too, in individual bags. It looked creepy, but if I was going to spend this kind of money on hair products, I needed objective proof that it was helping. I shampooed and used the scalp treatment every other day, simply rinsing and conditioning with a teeny bit of Phytodensium on the off days. The amount of hair I collected decreased by one-third immediately. I continued to save the hair (I know! It was so gross!) in baggies for a week and a half to make sure it wasn’t just a fluke. I sort of kept it to myself, but when it came time to shell out again to continue using the products, I showed my husband one giant wad of “before” hair and one of the wisps of “after” and he totally agreed it was worth the expense.
The packaging looks as if it’s formulated to protect the ingredients from light, so I guess it does its job, but it is different from the ordinary plastic packaging I’m used to. The shampoo is packaged in an elegant metal bottle, but the shampoo is really watery and the bottle opening rather large, so pour carefully. It’s too expensive to waste! The ampoules are little amber glass bottles, and before use, the top of the bottle must be snapped off. It could be dangerous, and it is not something I was used to. I found that holding a generous bunch of tissue around the neck of the bottle while I applied the pressure to snap it worked best. Then, you must firmly fit an included plastic applicator around the top, hiding the sharp glass edge. I keep a shatterproof cup filled with tissue nearby, and I nestle the ampoule inside the cup because I don’t trust it to balance on my counter. Quite a rigamarole, but definitely worth it.
So, while I can’t say Phytocyane is helping me grow more hair, it is definitely helping keep my hair rooted in my head, where I want it.

I dont know if it helps hair grow better. I didnt notice anything that special in this sampoo.
I didnt like that its difficult to brush after washing with it.

I paid more than I usually would (for a shampoo) for this one, and after using up a whole bottle of this, I saw no difference in hair loss. Before I bought this shampoo, I had been taking biotin and GNC nourishair and had seen some new growth along the hairline, and I decided to add this shampoo to my regime for a faster result. However, I lost more hair while using this product and lost lots of the new grown hairs!!! Grrrr~!!! It left my hair dry as hay and heavy. Also, the design of the bottle is very poor that it’s easy to spill the content, which, unlike traditional shampoos, is a runny liquid. It does lather well, but it does not do what it claims at such an expensive price. I will NEVER purchase this product again and I wish I could get my money back!! I’d give this item a zero rating if I could!

I used to shed a lot, and I mean A LOT of hair! (Just a shampoo and I have counted up to 60 strands of hair from merely a 5 minute shampoo, god knows how many I could not grab hold of to count or how many more dropped throughout the day!) I got desperate and heard about Phyto, so I bought the pills as well as the Phytocyane.
I noticed that I shed at most, 10 strands during shampooing. only. And the sink is definitely less clogged with my hair!
This could be due to the fact that I started to use pills as well… but I must say that my nails grow out a lot faster. And they are less prone to splitting.
I feel my hair has more volume and bounce. And a slightly thinning spot has improved, as less hair drops, so the new growth ADDS to that spot, rather than just REPLACING the lost strands!
I wash my hair daily, as I come from a hot and humid country. It does not dry out my hair, and leaves it feeling soft. I do use Phytobaume every alternate day though. |
Packaging wise – I find it difficult to control the amount dispensed as the shampoo has a consistency of water! I transfer it to a small pump bottle and I use about 2 to 3 pumps for each wash.
Cost wise – Other brands that I’ve tried for my thinning hair problem like Kerastase and such cost more than Phyto (esp when Phyto is on sale in my country) and those brands don’t work at all – not for me anyway. So I am fine with the cost of Phyto!
It’s a keeper for me!

A very effective shampoo for cleaning the scalp. I’ve noticed less hair loss since I’ve been using it, but I’m using it in conjunction with the phyto vitamins and some other haircare products so it’s hard to say if the shampoo is the only reason for improvement. Regardless, I like it and I’ve bought it several times.

I been using this shampoo for 4 months. I used a lot of hairloss shampoo and this is the best. I could see the result after a few washs my dropping hair have reduced even I wash it everyday. Thanks Phytocyane.
