I have fine wavy hair that I blow dry everyday to straighten and I use products that give me volume. The Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray gives a nice boost to my hair without a heavy, gunky feel. It is weightless but didn’t give my hair bounce – it gave me big hair that wasn’t stiff yet stayed in place throughout the day. I felt I used a lot as the directions say to spray in sections from root to ends but it is worth it. It has the Oribe signature smell but isn’t overpowering or as strong smelling as other Oribe products.

This is the first product that adds body to my hair without making me need to wash it by the next day. I don’t look like a Dynasty cast mate, but without it my hair would be much flatter. For travel I just transfer it to a smaller spray bottle and it’s fine. Highly recommend it. In the past I reviewed Aveda tonic, but this is so much better. I got it as a gift, but I’ll buy more if I use it up. The bottle will probably last a long time, so not so expensive if you amortize it.

This one didn’t work for me. I have fine, shoulder-length hair and this weighed it down and removed all softness. I’d seen so many youtubers rave about it, I was convinced I was just using too much. I tried every possible means of application and using the smallest amount, but my hair still looked terrible. I love the mousse (ironically, since I thought mousse was the old-fashioned product). I also love the Gold Lust Hair Oil from Oribe. So love the brand, just not this hair product. (Also, be aware that the entire Oribe line is heavily fragranced, so much so that after using the thickening spray or the mousse you will be able to smell it in confined spaces like elevators. If your work place has a no fragrance policy, this is something to know before you buy it. It’s a nice fragrance and for many people a selling point for the line, but I had not read about this aspect of the products before purchase.)

1 it smells good 2 it works. When I get out of the shower I spray my hair w leave in conditioner, put some hair oil on the ends and then spray this stuff from scalp to roots and then I blow dry my my roots down with my head flipped.
It gives me volume and it doesn’t dry my hair out at all, my hair is smooth afterwards with a nice volume in my roots but nothing crazy. I wish they made it in travel size.
