The formula for Roux Fanci Full Color Mousse has been changed! I could tell immediately the new product didn’t add the body and texture to my hair that I’ve come to expect and love for 40 years. I compared the new can to a can I’ve had a couple years and sure enough the ingredients are totally different. Roux has also dropped several colors which in my opinion is another huge mistake. I will be returning this can and starting a new search.

I can honestly only offer my opinion about the product/shade itself since I’ve yet to locate it at any of the few local stores I’ve physically visited.
I can honestly say I have been aware of this exact product and shade most of my life. Well, this and “Dippity Doo” hair gel my grandma and mom both used regularly before wrapping their hair in those huge plastic rollers with a big metal clip to hold it in place while sitting under a helmet looking machine. (Hair dryers back then)
But the white minx was used almost daily by my grandma since she had the most gorgeous naturally white hair. She swore by it to keep her hair soft, vibrant & shiny.
I can’t wait to find this product. Not only because I know first hand of the miraculous transformation it’s capable of on dry, damaged and/or yellowing or brassy looking hair color. But because I will be able to visit the memory of my best friend I lost so long ago. My loving, caring, compassionate yet stern when necessary, beautiful Grandma.

I have the lovely habit of transitioning between red, chestnut, and near platinum hair. This time I went the box-dye route… terrible mistake.
I started out with Level 5 auburn hair. I used L’oreal Effasol Color Remover (Hated it. Color B4, a British product that for whatever reason I can only find at my local grocery store works much better.) Then comes Born Blonde Maxi, and Two Rounds of Colorsilk Ultra Ash Blonde (Level 10.)
My Hair was gorgeous in some spots, but although I divided my hair into sections and used the brush and bowl method, I was left with brassy splotchy color.
Enter Fanci-Full White Minx. bought it from my local beauty supply store for $4.99! But my previous forays into blonde were used with professional products and always followed up with Wella toner that took away any brassiness.
White Minx worked WONDERS, it felt like a leave-in conditioner. I applied it heavily to the brassy areas, but used it all over my head. I let my hair air dry 75%, then blew dry. To my surprise, the brass is GONE! Also, over the passed few hours, the brass has lightened and the color is uniform all over. I couldn’t be happier and am smacking my head that I didn’t use this earlier to tone my hair when yellow-orange tones rear their ugly head! Highly recommended,
To clarify the (non) directions on the bottle…Shampoo, deep condition, towel dry hair then add White Minx wait a few moments and use any other moisturizing or hair products you’d normally use. Blow and go on you’r platinum way!

My daughter had her hair dyed close to platinum blonde at the salon. The stylist didn’t want to leave it on too long in fear over doing a lot of damage. Needless to say, she had ALOT of yellow and orange brassy tones in her hair. We washed her hair with a purple shampoo that we left on for 8 minutes before rinsing, followed by a purple conditioner that we left on an hour. The shampooing and conditioning helped a little, but it wasn’t until we added the ultra white minx as a leave in that we saw a MUCH bigger change. We used ALOT. I recommend you use a generous amount. She left it air dry over night, and the results this morning was unbelievably soft hair with ALOT less brassiness! It toned it down so much! We then put a heat protector on section by section and straightened it. It felt so soft and bouncy! This product not only toned down the brassiness, but is a really great leave in conditioner. My daughter has dry hair to begin with even before she dyed it blonde and her hair was amazingly soft!

I put this in a little spray bottle I got at Sally’s. I’ve used both white minx and ultra white minx and have gotta say I don’t see a difference. I have a platinum pixie that I obsessively try to keep toned. Sometimes when I take a shower w my shower cap, or wash my face and my hair gets in the way, ill use this on the sideburn/back inch sections because they can get brassier w more repeated soap & water exposure and this really does the job. Of course it comes out every time u wash but hey, for some quick toning it’s the bomb.
UPDATE: I ran out of this so I made my own. I took a generous amount of red-gold color corrector mixed with a healthy squirt of cheap conditioner and water in a small spray bottle. Shake. Works the same! And you can make it stronger and add what you want to it!

I’ve been bleaching and dyeing my hair white for a while, I saw this stuff on sale at Sally’s and read the great reviews. But it turned my already white hair lime green and did nothing for my pale bleached roots. Did I miss something? I don’t put any other product in my hair, and I triple checked and it is the White Minx version. Its a shame, I hope I did something wrong this stuff would have been really useful.

I have been looking for the product that would help me to mask yellow undertones after I get my hair bleached. I have a hard time to explain my stylist what I want or maybe she has a hard time understanding; however does the best compared with others. Still I have very pale yellow that I do not like. So I read many reviews and decided to give it a try. By the way used White minx #52.

It would be super complicated to apply the product evenly if it would be done as directed. What I did is I used a bowl and a wide brush that is used to apply hair dye and worked it this way. As I said it took like 20 minutes to apply but it was very nice even color.
I took one lippie off because it is time consuming. Other then that really good product for only $7. Highly recommended. I will buy again.

i will def be buying again my fake blonde hair tends to turn yellow i just towel dry my hair and pour this in i also like the moussee too i have to use a generous amount or else it wont work. It turns my hair more platnum i love this product and its here to stay!

I used this product because I had read a lot of good things about it on the net. For some reason it did nothing to my hair. My hair is platinum, and I thought I would try it between toning when my hair would get a bit more brassy then normal, it doesn’t help that I also have hard well water so it seems to go yellow easily. I don’t know why it did nothing, the toner I use is Manic Panic Virgin Snow and it works great so I thought this would be a sure thing for me since for Virgin Snow you have to have very pale yellow hair color or it will do nothing. I don’t know why it didn’t work. I really was hoping it would end up being a permanent product in my bathroom.
EDIT: 11/6/10 Used this stuff today, I thought maybe I should try it out again because so many people use & like it. Well, I am not sure how much it toned down the brassy in my platinum hair, but it really left my hair feeling great after I blow dried it. I didn’t have to use my CHI silkener which I usually have to use or my hair is very dry and frizzy from bleaching black to platinum (luckily most has grown out but the ends are bit drier than the rest of my hair). I used a LOT of this though, like poured it in my hair and rubbed it in with my fingers, combed it and put in Paul Mitchell Supper Skinny Serum, and Thicken Up, blow dried after applying make up and awesome! I had to stop to write this review, I am having the most awesome hair day today because of this stuff! I will be buying more. EDIT: 11/08/10 Yes this stuff tones my hair down perfectly. It is a BEAUTIFUL white color, soft and manageable, this stuff makes an excellent leave in conditioner for anyone who wants to tone brassiness. I think it did nothing the first time because I was under the impression a little bit of this product works, when really you need to really ‘rinse’ your hair with this stuff, but don’t rinse it out. Style as usual.

I am in the process of achieving white hair from a dark red (dyed, but naturally red) I have bleached it probably 5-6 times to get my hair as blonde as possible, and this is hard for me since my hair is naturally red. I’ve tried toners that claim to take out yellow and brassy tones in hair, but they made my hair gray or a weird beige color and ruined the beauty of the silvery white that I have achieved a few places in my hair.
I bought a bottle of Roux Fanciful Rinse in White Minx and Ultra White Minx. I recommend White Minx for those trying to cut a lot of yellow out since it is a darker purple toner and helps more than the Ultra White Minx, which is a very light lavender color. This product does a great job conditioning the hair! My hair feels very soft and bouncy after it dries! Roux’s rinse is basically a leave-in conditioner for those who want platinum hair or want to keep silvery tones in gray hair. I love it, but I hear there are better leave-in toners out there than this one, so keep an eye out for my reviews. I’ve tried products by Goldwell, several in the Live Blond line, and I didn’t see any results, and paid a lot more for these products. I swear, someday I will have the whitest hair in the land!
I give this product 4 stars because it not only cuts down the yellow in the bleached parts of my hair, but it conditions pretty well. It doesn’t make my hair as white as I want, but it’s pretty close.
