This was $4.99 at a international food market 20 minutes from my house in DC. I love this stuff. I am African American with coarse and dense hair with a medium thickness. I dont really curl type my hair…but I think most would say it is 3c to 4a…and its mid back length. I purchased this because I am still on the hunt for the perfect post henna treatment deep conditioner. This may be it! I applied to wet hair that had almond oil on the ends. Applied throughout, finger detangled (it has awesome slip) and then left on my hair for 60 minutes. Rinsed with luke warm water and proceeded to style.
It has a wonderful smell, great slip, and days later my hair still feels really soft, which never happens after a post henna deep conditioning treatment. i love shea moisture and cantu products but i usually have to add a moisturizer a few days after henna bc my hair gets crunchy…i did not experience this with this product. i will totally re-use and plan to stock up. highly recommend for natural girls that use henna or heavy protein treatments, or experience really dry hair.

I could not believe there was no review for this on MUA when I was searching before purchasing it! I’m glad I bought it any way.
It’s difficult to find a hair mask that actually works for me. I have tried drug store brands, and even high end salon brands. Some masks were decent, others did nothing.
This comes in a huge, 1 kg tub. I bought mine from my local Indian grocery store for $12. I have seen it in T&T, and other Asian stores though. Its also on Amazon. The product itself is thick and a greenish-grey colour. It smells AMAZING. It’s heavily scented, which I usually don’t like but this just smells so damn good. It might not be that great for sensitive people, but it doesn’t linger in your hair for long after washing. As you can see, you get a great amount for what you pay. Its so much cheaper than salon brands, and it actually works.
I have fine hair, with horrible frizzy and dry ends. I put it on my scalp, and the rest of my hair, but I focus on the ends which need the most conditioning. I use it on my scalp even though my hair is fine because when I looked at Amazon reviews, some claim it helps hair regrow. I know this is true for black seed oil, but I don’t know about a mask. Either way, it won’t hurt. I only use this once a week, and leave it on for as long as I can (usually 30 minutes to an hour).
The result? My hair is silky smooth. My ends feel soft and are tamed. I highly recommend this for anyone, especially if you have dry hair. I also recommend the Vatika line in general. They have some really awesome products I can’t wait to try.
