I think this product is misnamed. I don’t find that it really adds much volume to my hair. Instead, it is a rare deep conditioner that doesn’t weigh down my fine, straight hair. When I think of it that way, it works well. It conditions deeply, rinses easily, and leaves my hair soft and tangle-free without weighing it down. It has a pleasant but not overwhelming fragrance. I picked it up on clearance at Ulta for 50% off because I like other products from the Brocato Swell Volume line. However, the retail price is almost $20 for just 5.3 ounces. Although I don’t need to use much each time, I find that true for any conditioner on my hair. Since I’m unlikely to find it so cheap again and since I can no longer get it from Ulta, I doubt I’ll repurchase.

This made my hair incredibly flat.
It’s targeted towards those with fine/limp hair but honestly it just amplified the problem.
I truly believe these are false reviews or over glorified reviews because there’s no way, the previous reviewers and I, are talking about the same product.
There was no fluff, there was no bounce, only hair that was incredibly sticky and dead straight, in the most dull and lifeless way.
Goodbye Sam Brocato.

THE BEST VOLUMIZER TREATMENT EVER! I have spent so much money trying to get the fuller thicker look without my poof hair looking more poofy with fluff that other brands do. I have female pattern hair loss so I’m pretty desperate for anything that will help. Brocato Swell line rocks! It truly does what it says! I found out about this swell product line on a hairloss help forum under what REALLY works to make you look like your hair is fuller than it is. Highly recommend!!!

Lately, from age, hormones, bad hair colour, and the wrong products, my poor hair has never been thinner, weaker, more fragile and flyaway. I started back using my Ion Colour Brilliance hair colour, and using Paul Brown for my other products and things are getting better. However I could feel that my hair was still feeling thin, though in better condition.
I was originally looking for a scalp treatment to revitalize my hair, however I also wanted something to give me body and I saw this reviewed.
I’ve never tried Brocato before but have seen it all the time at Chatters Salon (in Canada). When I got there, they had a BTGOF (Buy 2 get 1 free). I had reviewed other Brocato products so I also picked up the Moveable Hairspray, and Saturate Intense Moisture along with the Swell Volume treatment.
I just used the Saturate, and then the Swell, and wow I’m loving it! My hair is bouncy and shiny and full of soft movable body. This product didn’t just fluff up my hair cuticle and make my hair drier. It’s like it gave me a whole new head of hair increased in volume and condition. This really brought out the wave in my hair, with some of the waves turning into loops and I’ve never had that before. And not a single styling product on my hair (you rinse this product out – I kept it on for 10 minutes), I just casually blow dried on med heat with a round brush.
I haven’t tried the Hairspray yet, but wow, I’m really glad I tried these products! Reasonably priced to for a salon brand – and with the special I was able to get 3 products for under $50 including tax – that’s a very satisfying dealio!! I am very happy with the results. I’m trying to post a pic of the results – no make up on sorry! Ha ha! Hair isn’t perfect yet but this is the best it’s looked in months!

Got this at a real steal, on clearance at Trade Secret for only 3 bucks a pop. LOVED it, in fact so much i went back and bought the 5 they had left. This stuff really works! HG volumizing product.

I picked up the big 32 ounce bottle on sale at Ulta yesterday for $9.99, with the regular price sticker of $29.99 still on the bottle. I never tried this before (never even heard of it) but I was attracted by the reduced price and thought I would give it a try, but not expecting too much.
Well, was I in for a pleasant surprise! My hair is very thick and wavy and has a lot of body but I always look for something to improve it, anyway. But I have never found a product that made much of a difference…until this! I feel like I have TWICE as much hair and I can comb it easily after shampooing and conditioning (it’s usually a tangled mess even with using conditioner, so bad that sometimes I feel like I’m pulling my hair out) and it has been super easy to brush out and style (I set my hair with hot curlers because I’m not too talented with blow drying).
Also, it has no oily, greasy feel, which is very important to me–I use a high pressure shower head to rinse my hair thoroughly. I wouldn’t have thought to comment on the fragrance but I see others have. It is distinct but not overpowering and I find it very pleasant. I wash my hair every night just before going to bed and the fragrance (to me) is very relaxing as I’m falling asleep. Yes, it is strong enough for me to smell it in my hair but as I previously mentioned, I find it to be very, very pleasant.
The difference in my hair is extremely noticeable and my husband (who NEVER notices ANYTHING) remarked that I looked like it different person because I looked like I have so much hair. He REALLY, REALLY liked it and that’s saying a lot!
The ONLY down side is that I find it is a little hard to get the product out of the big bottle, wish it had a pump. But it’s not enough to deduct a lippie as this product has so much going for it.
I am so impressed with this that I went back to Ulta today to see if they had any more on sale. There were four left and I bought all of them. I don’t want to be without it as this immediately became my HG conditioner–very surprising considering that up until now, I couldn’t even find a conditioner that I could honestly say I liked at all!

One of the better volumizing conditioners out of the many I have tried. Did not leave a weird waxy or coated feeling as many similar conditioners promising volume seem to do. Left hair soft and shiny. I have to be careful to to use only from ears down as I have fine hair that goes flat on top if conditioner gets anywhere near my roots. This added some nice texture, but I could see it weighing down fine hair a bit if overused. As for the scent, I am very drawn to it; guess you love it or hate it!

I seriously love this stuff for my fine limp hair. You just have to use it regularly to get the maximum benefit. And as for the smell, I love it. This conditioner and Pure Abundance from Aveda are my two all time favorites to provide volume.

This stuff is amazing. I have incredibly fine, limp hair. I keep it shoulder-length to help boost my chances of having volume, and until I tried Swell Volume I wasn’t having much luck. I know one reviewer complained of the smell and the other loved it, but I’m halfway between. I’ve long grown accustomed to various hair styling scents (most of the products you’d get in your hair at a salon will smell “different”), so it didn’t bother me at all. The directions say to leave it in for at least 5 minutes, and I left it in for around 10. Luckily, I did notice volume in my hair after blowdrying. It wasn’t as if I had three times as much hair on my head, but it did make a difference. I recommend using a root lifter and blowdrying it in sections. It takes a little longer, but the results are definitely salon-worthy.

I can’t believe how full and shiny my really thin fine hair is after using this the past two days, it feels like silk and is sooo shiny and fluffy (which is a good thing for my type of hair). Unlike the other reviewer, I love the scent!
