I like this. My scalp gets really itchy to the point where it bleeds if I scratch it (gross) and gets flaky. When my scalp is badly itchy it’s the only thing I have found that gives me immediate and temporary relief. I don’t use it super often, and I still have dandruff, but maybe if I used it more it would help with that. I’d buy again although I will probably continue to text other products. If also lasts a while despite how small and expensive it is.

This is a very sad review for me to write. I wanted this to work so badly. Unfortunately, it didn’t do it for me like I hoped it would.
I have been having issues with my scalp and hair for a couple of years now. After one day of no shampooing, my scalp gets intensely itchy (occasionally to the point of pain) and flaky. I have awful dandruff. But at the same time my roots get super oily. The ends of my hair are extremely dry. So obviously I have a pretty unhealthy scalp. I explained this to the very kind employee at lush. He recommended this and it sounded like the answer to my prayers.
Upon my first use, I was pleased with the texture – a little really goes a long way. It smells like chamomile tea. When I put it in my scalp it tingled. I had no issues washing it out. My scalp was still itchy and flaky two days later, but I figured it would take a couple of tries for it to really start working. Fast forward about a month – I’d been using it just about twice a week, and there were not even any short term changes in my scalp, let alone long term. I went from that to maybe once a week, and at this point it’s sitting in my drawer and I haven’t touched it in maybe two months. I will probably try to use it again but this product didn’t even help me on the days I had used it. I’m sure superbalm works great for many people so I am pretty disappointed it didn’t for me.

Very coconuty smell. Be warned, do not apply too much. Less is indeed more in this case. Silly me kept thinking that I haven’t applied enough on my scalp. I went ahead and scoop a large amount and then proceeding to smother all over my scalp with a good finger massage. After the first rinse it was obvious that there was a crazy amount of residue left uncleaned on my hair, my hair was so greasy, flat and couldn’t not dry at all. It took me the whole afternoon of 6 rinses to restore my hair back to original state.
Putting that nightmare aside, I feel that it didn’t do anything dramatic for my hair, but maybe it does helped with my dandruff issue for a little while. I haven’t followed up with another treatment so hopefully after my lesson learnt from my first experience I’ll be able to share some positive reviews again with my next update.
