First off really do not like the smell of these products. They smell like old lady (and I’m an old lady!) feminine hygiene products. Very heavily scented! As far as oil I tried several different methods, on dry hair to smooth fly aways and frizz – meh. On wet hair as a heat protectant – again meh. After a rough dry to add a little moisture back before straightening my hair. I am very fond of hair oils. I’m finding expensive brands don’t do my hair any more favors than 100% Moroccan Oil from The Ordinary. Same results and a whole lot less money spent. With any of these oils your results many vary and learning what amount of oil your hair can absorb during different steps in styling is key. I use only a few drops and hair is protected smooth not oily looking but has a nice shine – however that is best results with The Ordinary product. Smooth and Shine Hair Serum is a no repurchase one and done. My hair is highlighted layers bra strap lenght and in very good condition from shampoo conditioner and hair oils. No other products. Commentary time – I think dry shampoos ruins hair, I think most of the styling products make hair dry brittle and over processed. Washing hair daily strips hair of natural oils. Let your hair go gross oily at least once a month and comb brush the oil through your hair before washing. Learn the ph of your hair and scalp if you have issues you are probably striping your hair and your scalp if fighting back producing oil. If your hair is dry all those conditioning masks are not really going to fix but cover up the problem. A good clarifying (ACV diluted) shampoo will be your best start. But this doesn’t sell the latest you tubers push product magic elixir.

As with the restorative mask, this product tends to build up. I use it only on the ends of my hair, which is medium length. If I were to use it all over, it makes it greasy and limp. However, it is great for humid days here in Kansas. Just do not use it near the scalp. Smells heavenly.
