I found that it made my hair very soft and shiny. My only wish would be that it had more natural ingredients.

I’ve now been using BioSilk Silk Therapy for years after seeing a woman on a reality show swear by it. Her hair always looked great and I wondered what it would do for me. I bought a very large bottle back when it was cheaper and I’ve had it at least 10 years now. I have a lot of hair, strong and wiry which I wear in a “lob”. No chemicals in my hair – I just dye my hairline about 4-5 times a year to cover the grays.
I like to use it two ways – one way is to use about 3/4 tsp. massaged into my hair after I get out of the shower and before a blow dry. It helps to protect my hair from the heat and allows he to get my vent brush right through it with not a lot of pulling. If I use too much my hair gets too greasy looking and I have to start all over again.
Another way I like to use it is to bring some shine back and to cover the ends of my hair which tend to get dry and a little rough. For this I use on’y 1-2 drops. The product smells good and it lasts along time. My only issue is with the packaging. The bottle has to be kept upright or the formula will slowly leak out around the cap.
The cap has a press down top, which makes the product gather around the opening and it quickly becomes a mess, so I rinsed the residue off in hot water and and take the whole cap off. I get the right amount in my hands by pressing the bottle top against my palm which gives me about a nickel sized amount. Other than the packaging, I consider this product to be more expensive but you get quite a lot of it and the bottle lasts a long time.

Great product, smells amazing. Gives the hair a great texture without being greasy. However, the price is absolutely ridiculous…way overpriced.

All time favorite hair product, tbh my whole family loves it (yes, even my dad). This stuff feels oily when you put on your hands and in your hair initially, but once you brush it out and give it a few minutes it absorbs like a dream and leaves your hair silky. I have medium-thick, dry hair, that goes down to my butt and this stuff actually moisturizes it amazingly. My mom has fine, short, oily hair and she loves it too.

Smells good, works well. Is on the thicker side of serums which is kind of annoying. Not sure if it gives me that much shine, but makes my hair manageable and smooth.

I used to use this quite often (until I started cutting down on silicones in haircare and skincare products) as this would make my hair feel exceptionally soft and managebale. I would use a small amount on towel dried hair, right before blow drying and actually never minded the floral fragrance as it disappeared fairly quickly. The ‘feel good factor’ of Biosilk could have been partly down to the couple of beneficial ingredients in the formulation, namely: Panthenol (a derivative of Vitamin B5) and hydrolyzed silk. Or it could have just been the good old silicones. Or a combination of both! Nevertheless I only use this on the rare occasion now, not as frequently as I used to.

I have used this for nearly 20 years, so I think a review is in order. First off, oils are now a thing, but when this came out there was nothing much else like it. I remember being wowed by the results so many years ago and my stylist saying “it’s the best in the industry.” So what does it do? Well it really does soften, silken and detangle. I have long, chemically treated hair that is increasingly prone to tangling after washing. I apply about a quarter size blob evenly through my hair (avoiding the roots) and voila! Zero breakage and much softer hair. You can use a small amount applied to dry hair to prevent fly-aways as well. As someone who doesn’t wash their hair everyday I can say this really does leave minimal residue/build-up. Other oils seem to compare well on the detangling, softening front, but usually very quickly my hair feels heavy and weighted. I have tried the MoroccanOil Argon Oil and found that Biosilk put it to shame (MoroccanOil left my hair heavy and dirty feeling). Same with various other oils from brands ranging from Aveda to Sally Beauty generics. Anyway, this used to have more of an “exclusive” feel, but now I routinely find it for a song at TJMaxx. I think it’s even sold at Walmart, which is kind of funny because it used to be such a big deal. Honestly I could live without the scent. It’s a light floral smell that does fade quickly, but I just don’t like florals. The scent is gone almost immediately though. Packaging is not great for travel, but otherwise it’s fine. I recommend this over all hair oils, high-end to budget.

I always have a bottle of this in my house. I usually put it in my hair while it’s wet and it leaves it feeling incredibly soft and the smell of the product is a bonus as well. On the back it says you can put it on your skin which I frequently do and it makes my skin very soft. I definitely recommend it.

Smells beyond beautiful! It doesn’t darken my platinum hair and helps keep it strong/shiny.
