I love the concept of this brand, its rituals and mostly its ingredients, and that’s why every now and again I come back to try another product and see what happens. So far I’ve had mixed results. I picked this one up online in full retail size as it contains ‘Neem’ – an ingredient I have a lot of faith in, from positive past experiences. Unfortunately though, in this formulation it’s lost in a sea of alcohol and water. Water I totally get but the alcohol wasn’t really necessary and in my case only served to irritate my scalp (I purchased this to help balance my oily scalp). Almost as soon as I open the bottle, the first thing I get is a blast of perfume and alcohol. Now having gone through half the bottle, using once daily, I’ve given up on it and put to one side. There’s a number of good ingredients in here but the perfume and alcohol are just too much for my scalp, making it feel even greasier than normal, completely the opposite to what it was supposed to do, and weighing down my roots. By evening whichever day I applied this my scalp would start to feel itchy and really greasy. Also the dispensing nozzle is horrendous…it releases way too much product in one go which ends up running down the side of my face and down my neck if I’m not careful. The dispensing mechanism seriously needs to be changed on this and if they updated the formulation with less alcohol and perfume in it I’d be more than willing to give it another try…

(As I’ve sampled 100s of skin, hair and m/u products over the last decade and a half, I thought it might be useful to share my top 10 must-have products, subject to change if and when I come across something more effective. I love constantly trying out new stuff – usually sample sizes via e-bay, also plenty courtesy of a friend who works at Sephora)
