I decided try this product because I love Phyto styling products especially the Phytokeratine Repairing Thermal Protectant Spray but I was looking for something else similar that will last longer since I go though the bottle so quickly. Phyto Specific is made by Phyto but is designed for curly hair. It took a long time for me to find Thermoperfect 8 at Ulta cause it was in the back of the store, on the last shelf on the very bottom. Anyways this product is really amazing and so worth the money. Nice ingredients and best of all NO SILICONES!!! Themoperfect 8 is a lotion/ serum like consistency and it smooths the hair and protects from heat. I section my hair into 5 sections before blowdrying and use one pump for each section to make sure every strand is coated. My hair looks so nice after flat ironing and feels healthy. I like it even better than the protectant spray, which I never thought I would find something better than that. Hopefully this will last longer than the spray.

Pleasantly surprised by this serum. I purchased it because it was on clearance at Ulta and I wanted to use up my point. For the record, my hair is type 4b/c that is dense but the strands are fine. I was told that my hair is low porosity so I guess my hair has a hard time accepting moisture. I shampooed my hair with Kinky Curly Be clean shampoo and then followed up with Joico Moisture Balm (in the blue tube). After that my hair was well moisturizes and I detangled my hair thoroughly. I used two pumps in each quadrant of my hair and started blow-drying my hair. Usually when I blow-dry my hair, it feels crunchy, even when I use the lowest setting. But not this time around. My hair was moist after using it on medium heat. My blow-out looked a hot mess but hair was so soft and fluffy. This is a definitely repurchase.

This is the first heat protectant product that I’ve tried and liked. I was worried because I have fine hair and most serums/styling products can weigh it down, but like Phyto 7, this serum is lightweight and leaves my hair soft and not greasy. It smells sweet, like coconuts or cocoa butter, but the scent eventually fades away. If you wet your hair again it reactivates the smell, which can be cloying – I do wish that Phyto made this unscented. It’s lightweight enough to where I can still wash my hair every other day. I use about a dime-sized amount or less per application, so a full sized tube will last a long time.
