NatureLab Tokoyo first caught my eye on Amazon about a year ago, specifically the Perfect Repair shampoo and conditioner set. Just the packaging, bottles alone made me want to buy it. At first there were few reviews and they seemed promotional, not authentic customer reviews. This really turned me off, so I ignored it for a good 6 months. Then I took a second look and noticed the line had added new products. Instead of taking the plunge with the shampoo and conditioner set, I settled on the masque, thinking I could use it as needed, not as a daily routine with my fine hair and oily scalp.
This a great mask. It provides moisture, shine, smooths coarse texture, and makes my hair feel and behave well. However, it does contain dimethicone. I am a ‘cone hatter. I think they are overused, not well understood by the general public, and, with continued use, cause other problems that now require another/different product to treat. In my experiences of products containing them ranging from shower lotions, facial skin care, hair care products to body products, they build up quite quickly and repel moisture, which is just counter to the products’ claims that use them. For this reason, I could not give it a 5th lippie. I use it about every other week in rotation with other deep conditioners/masques. I am still on the fence and researching more about their shampoo and conditioner sets.
