This review is for all the “peeps” who bleach out their hair. Coconut oil is rather expensive, but it is highly recommended to use as a pre-treat prior to bleaching. Was looking for a much cheaper option. So when I saw a quart of canola oil on sale, my wheels starting spinning. A full quart for $2.50!
Went ahead and used this just like people use coconut oil. So the night BEFORE you plan to bleach, give your tresses a good coat of oil but not enough to stain your pillow. Then, the next day when you’re preparing your bleach mixture, put two or three teaspoons of canola oil into your bleach and developer. Mix it up and apply. Post bleaching HIGHLY RECOMMEND deep conditioning with Salerm Wheatgerm Conditioning Treatment. So doing all of the above, my resulting bleach job worked out fantastic. My hair is smooth and shiny, and most definitely does NOT have that dried and fried look tell tale look of a DIY bleach job.
Poured some into a bottle and added lavender essential oil for use post shower. Really NICE too as a facial or cuticle moisturizer, but not as thick or heavy as olive oil.
A FANTASTIC deal.
