This product may be a good conditioner but the smell is horrible.

I’m currently obsessed with coconut products for my hair I’ve heard coconut is very moisturizing & my ends were feeling a little dry so I thought this would deep condition but it doesn’t really do anything special. It feels like an average regular conditioner. I don’t even like the scent it smells like coconut and chemicals

The product is of an average performance. Thick texture (like other reviewers commented), strong coconut scent – sweet, warm vanilla and very tropical, just a very typical coconut milk product would smell like. I am currently using OGX Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner. I personally like them so much, they make my hair so smooth and really give my hair mega-watt shine (no joking, my hair shines and looks healthy, maybe because it contains egg white/egg protein). I bet most of the hair products which contain coconut oil will give you the dramatic effect of shiny hair except raw coconut oil or EVCO which I have said in some of my other reviews that pure oil is hard to be spread and very very thick texture and it makes my hair dull and lifeless, not to say, it goes rancid very fast.
This Hask Monoi Nourishing Deep Conditioner, unfortunately is quite pricey (in my country’s currency and Hask is not a drugstore product, it is high end and expensive compared to other brands) just for a small packet and I use only a little amount (enough to spread over my hair) and one packet definitely can last for a few usages. It is very thick and gooey texture, lovely scent and smell yummilicioius. Easy to spread (non dripping or watery) and nothing filmy and it makes me think of ‘lard’ when I squeeze out the content from its packet. They look so alike!
I follow the instruction of letting it to sit on my hair for 10 minutes and rinse out. It does not give me a very slippery and smooth effect when I start rinsing it out. My hair feels like normal and nothing special – no extra smoothness and there is still a bit of the frizziness remaining. The coconut scent does linger on my hair for a day and it does not fade even if I go to restaurant and have my meal. The scent is just so overpowering and you might not notice it when your hair is wet. The scent gets stronger when your hair is dry. My hair is not as smooth as I expect but it still gives me a good shine reflect and easy to comb.
I like this product because it suits all hair types (I am lazy and not bother to figure out what type of hair I have. Definitely my hair is dry and damaged because I use heat everyday to straighten it and my hair becomes fragile and has split end) but I have yet to buy its matching shampoo and conditioner. If the deep conditioner only performed averagely, what more for the conditioner? I wonder.

As far as hair treatments go, this one is fairly average. It made my hair soft but didn’t really help much with frizz or moisture. I do like the amazing coconut scent and the fact that it’s a thick, concentrated product – I have very long hair and the packet was more than enough for me. I might repurchase this if only for the scent.

Love the scent. However, it’s just not that great of a deep conditioner. After bleaching my hair I started using almost exclusively deep conditioners on my hair after shampooing because normal conditioners just weren’t cutting it. It’s been several months since then and my hair has recovered a bit and feels much healthier now…. but this just didn’t do anything for my hair really. I’ve tried much better conditioners and deep conditioners (Miracle 7 deep conditioners). Honestly, I prefer the normal conditioner from this line rather than this deep conditioner.

I didnt have high expectations for this, so i was pleasently surprised. I have thin, bleached hair that needs alot of moisture. This smelled amazing (in my opinion) and left my hair pretty soft. Its not my favorite, but I will use up the bottle

This is a deep conditioner meant to add extra moisture to dry or damaged hair. I have shoulder-length fairly thick causasian hair that I chemically straighten and color. There is enough product in here for about 3 applications, depending on hair length and thickness. The directions say to apply a generous amount to clean wet hair, concentrating on damaged areas, and to leave in for 10 minutes. I used this in the shower following my shampoo. I left it on about 10 minutes under a shower cap. When I rinsed it out, I felt like it wasn’t as good as my normal Pureology conditioner.
Monoi oil is derived from coconuts, so there is a very strong engineered coconut scent (definitely not what real coconut oil smells like). However, there is an even stronger musk scent, which has to be my least favorite scent. Even though I rinsed this out thoroughly and applied my own conditioner on top, the musky scent lingered for about 12 hours.
I rarely buy drugstore hair products, but this was the perfect size for travel. If your hair is normal, this might be just fine for you. However, if you actually have dry or damaged hair, look elsewhere.
