So to start this off, 3.99$ for a jar of this? Mane n Tail brand. I was sold. When I got home I instantly wanted to use it. I’m very big on leave-in conditioners and hair masks so I was very excited for this one. I noticed when I first put it in my hair that it almost felt like hair gel, thinking wow what a weird consistency.. I had already read the directions and noticing that it had not washed out of my hair that night I figured, “maybe I’m supposed to put it in while I’m in the shower still while my hair is wet” in doing so there was no real difference. The texture of it was super wet and greasy feeling it was very disgusting. So I’ve about had it w this product. My husband then watches me gob it and slather it into my hair. I then said I’ll just do this every day until the product is gone and leave it for a few weeks. If my hair isn’t softer or longer by then I’ll be pissed!
It’s was a few days later and I decided i couldn’t take it anymore. I washed my hair good and through 3x, already fully knowing my hair would still be greasy to the touch when I got out of the shower. I thought to myself maybe baby powder will help edge off some of the greasiness. Well it did.
I decided to then do a little research of my own and found this exact review page. All reviews are either the same. People giving it a horrible review because they’re using it WRONG, which I’ll admit using the product wrong as well. I will also admit that the product doesn’t have very specific directions. Then there are the 5 star reviews of people who are actually using this product right.
Im glad to say I gave the product a second chance last night, GLIDING MY FINGERS EVER SO LIGHTLY across the top of the gel. Working it from root to top, scrunching it into my hair like hair moose. I did again, use just a smidge too much, but not so bad. This product WILL NOT make your hair look or feel greasy and disgusting if you use it right.
I myself just feel very sorry for all the females on this forum who have given this product a bad review, based on how they inaccurately used this product and making a fool of themselves by throwing a fit on the internet and saying the would never wish this product on their worst enemy. If you’d never wish this product on anyone you know, then you truly don’t care about them or their hair.
OVER ALL REVIEW! this product made my hair insanely soft. Both times, after using the product wrong and using it properly. I have noticed very significant growth to my hair since buying this product. I LOVE this product

I know everyone is saying this is the worst product ever and it makes their hair disgustingly greasy… so you are probably wondering why I gave this 5 stars. But the reason why people hate it is because they are using it WRONG. They are obviously using way too much of this product because a little goes a long way with this. You only apply it to your ends as well. But what people don’t realize is that this product is for styling and it deep conditions. So all I do is take a smudge of it and rub it around both of my hands then I grab the ends of my hair and scrunch them so my hair would get curly. It looks completely natural and NOT greasy. I absolutely adore it because my hair doesn’t get frizzy all day which is unusual since I have natural wavy hair. Another thing that makes this wonderful is that it makes my hair grow longer. A lot of people believe that mane ‘n tail’s hair products don’t make there hair grow but I have noticed a significant difference. It will obviously not be growing overnight but in the first month I was using their products it grew 3 inches! With anything else it only grows about a centimeter. Anyway, don’t listen to the other reviews I swear this product is amazing! Just remember that a little goes a long way 🙂

I absolutely hate this stuff!!! I use their shampoo all the time and it makes my hair so soft and shiny but this stuff is just gross! I put it in my here Sunday afternoon as a deep conditioner after I took a shower, that night I washed my hair 10 times with so many different shampoos trying to get it out of my hair. My hair looks so gross and greasy but my scalp is dry and my hair is brittle. It is now Tuesday and I’ve tried everything. I’m going to the salon to see what they can do. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!! If anyone has a tides of how to get this stuff out let me know asap!

WORST PRODUCT EVER!!!!!!!!!!! I regret using this product I have washed my head more than 10 times I’m on my second day non stop washing and it still does not come off!!!! My head is a grease ball! Will NEVER!!! recommend this product, I use the shampoo and that’s about it.. even the Shampoo can’t get rid of all this glue! I’m so upset, frustrated, stessed etc., I cant style my hair for a dinner I party I have tonight thanks to this awful product… DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!!!!

This is my worst hair product ever! I’m determined to grow my hair out long and healthy with no split ends like most girls at the moment, but this product is like superglue I have washed my hair five times and given up with it now.
I have work in the morning and my hairs looks unbelievably greasy/oily, sticky and just over all gross. I wouldn’t recommended this product to my worst enemy. I am currently using the shampoo and conditioner (the orginal mane ‘n’ tail one) and that is the only mane ‘n’ tail products that I will be using.
I really do regret not reading more about this product as this was a huge waste of money.
I will definitely not be giving this product another chance ever again.

Not advisable for women with thin hair. It might work if you use it as deep conditioning at night. But be cautious about the amount that you could use. It should be lil amount or else your hair will look gross. It is not easy to rinse of… you need shampoo your hair as much as you can and rinse with allot of water. With my personal experience.. the first time I use it to go for a party..my god I look like I don’t wash my hair for years. I need to go in a shower again rinse it with allot of water… duh and put a powder on my hair just to get rid of it. The end I went out with pony..lol

This product sucks. I have thin hair that barely grows and I used it and it coated each individual piece of hair with petroleum. I didn’t want to go anywhere because it looked like i haven’t showered in 5 years. I tried shampoo, dawn soap, baby powder, peanut butter, detangler, coconut oil, extract salt, vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice. None of it worked what did work though is to soak your hair in olive oil, then scrub it into your scalp, then use hand soap and scrub that into your scalp with the oil. Then rinse. Then you’ll need to shampoo your hair once maybe twice to get the grease from the olive oil out. Hope it works for you!

I love love love this stuff! My hair is dry with split ends and flyaways. It’s very fine and fair naturally. I think the product is actually for people with more thick coarse hair, but I still find it works lovely on my fine hair. As long as you don’t use too much. Too much will make your hair look greasy. So, use very little!
I use literally the smallest amount. On wet or dry hair. I run my fingers over it and get a tiny amount, rub my hands together to warm the product, then distribute with my fingers, focusing on my ends. Tames all my flyaways and makes my hair feel so soft and look silky.
Holy grail product for me! And you can’t beat the price tag, so cheap for a huge jar!
I think people are using this as a hair mask or conditioner. I don’t think it’s meant to be used that way. Use it more like you would an oil or styling cream and I think you will like it much better.

I have been using the shampoo & conditioner; decided I would purchase the Herbal Gro after such great results thus far with the shampoo & conditioner! The details on the back are very simple and don’t specify how to use this stuff; I read up on reviews and how to use before I applied on my own hair! By the sounds of most reviews, individuals have literally slapped on a large amount of this product (like a hair mask) BIG MISTAKE!!
I lightly glided my finger tips over the tub of product and rubbed my hands together; then started at the tips of my hair and worked my way up to the scalp. Keep gliding your fingers over the product (depending on your hair type and length) when applying. I DID NOT wash it out!! Towel dryed my hair and then blow dryed it; it was super soft/silky/had tons of shine but I could tell it was a tad greasy. I went to bed that night and woke up with perfect hair; my hair and scalp had absorbed the remaining product over night 🙂 I love this stuff and would recommend it to anyone that has the patience to apply it properly!

This shampoo was good in terms of smell and Shine.But,its just too hard to lather up and when i use it it gave me dandruff and itchy scalp.I would highly recommend Nisim fast shampoo if u are looking for something to help in hair growth.The fast shampoo also leaves hair feeling soft and managable.A 5/5 for nisim.dont bother trying mane n tail herbal gro if u have sensitive scalp espicially.
