Love this stuff…I never thought about trying this product until the pretty sales girl gave me a container free!! I put it in the refrigerator and used it the next day. Man I loved the peppermint tingle it gave my scalp and it felt so good and cooling it really got rid of a lot of the build up and flakes and itchiness I had going. When I washed it off and dried my hair my hair was so shiny and smooth it was so glossy that I had to buy it. Now I use this all the time.

Love this mask! I’ve tried other Lush hair products and wasn’t very impressed. This mask, however, is superb. When applying it to my hair if felt sort of weird and didn’t spread very easily, so I thought it wouldn’t do a very good job. After I washed it though, I immediately felt how soft my hair became. It made it super shiny and soft, and smells amazing too!

I lovveeee this product.
The smell is amazing, it smells so fresh and minty!
I left the product in my hair longer than recommended (i think i got 3 uses out of the pot) and wow! my hair was silky and wonderful for days!
It’s pretty pricey so im not in a rush to repurchase again, maybe in summer i will to rehydrate my hair. allover a great product apart from the price!

I don’t really have a problem with flakes or head itchiness , however I am in the process of growing my hair out and as I cannot stop heat styling it (boardering on Afro hair & high school do not mix well) so I decided to treat my hair to masks every once and a while. I usually just use olive oil or a thick drugstore deep conditioner, but when I was taking back 5 blacks to lush I got this for free. I was interested in getting it (and if you’re trying to grow your hair out then you should be too) that it’s supposed to stimulate the scalp with all the mint. So last week I just grabbed a small scoop of this, emulsified it through my hands and work onto my scalp. I have used it gain 3 times after that and I have to tell you I can see this lasting a good 6 uses! It made my scalp feel really clean and shiny.

I purchased Hair Doctor only because recently my scalp has been itchy and dry. Sometimes I get flakes, but not often enough for me to start freaking out about it. Well I thought that perhaps this mask was going to be my answer for that problem, and prevent my scalp from turning into an itchy, dandruff nightmare. But I am afraid that’s not going to be the case.
Putting it on is a bit tricky since I have really long, thick hair, but I took the time to make sure I massaged it only into my scalp and sat back. I expected this super awesome tingly sensation, which did occur, only maybe not as much as I had anticipated based on other reviews. And why didn’t anyone mention how bad this smells? A bit like tea tree but mostly like dirt…
Well twenty minutes went by, washed it out easily enough and went about my day. Here’s the problem with this product. My scalp doesn’t itch the day I wash it so I knew that it would be with second day hair that I would find out how well this product works… And that’s when I discovered that it doesn’t! Seriously, I almost feel like my scalp was even itchier than normal. And no, I did not have flakes, but like I said, that’s not really the reason I bought this anyway. 15.95 USD is a bit much for something that makes my problems worse… I plan on trying Superbalm next time and seeing if that calms things down.
So if you are looking for something to soothe an itchy scalp, I would pass this one up.

Wow! I’ve been looking for something that would help my embarrassing flaky scalp for years. This was the first thing, from shampoos, masks, treatments that totally sorted me out. From the second I felt the peppermint on my scalp I knew it would be good, but I didn’t expect zero flaking the first time! Make sure to leave it on for a good half hour, and massage into scalp quite well.

Oh my, I had such high hopes for this. Let me just say I’ve suffered with a dry, flaky, itchy scalp for at least 4 years now. A couple of months ago I started using Giovanni Tea Tree Shampoo and my condition has improved by about 80%. The white patches on my skin have disappeared by quite a lot, and I only get about a few minutes worth of itching now and then. I put this mask on in the morning and it felt really nice, clarifying and tingly. Doesn’t smell that amazing, but I don’t mind if the product helps improve my scalp condition.
However…. about 8 hours later my scalp started itching like crazy, the way it used to before I started taking care of it with clean and organic products. I haven’t seen the white flakes appear in my scalp like crazy, and can’t believe when I started scratching and saw the flakes start falling. Sorry this is so gruesome. Anyhow, I still have 3/4 of a tub left and might give it a couple more chances.

– Packaging is OK; typical Lush black tub
– I don’t like the smell. It’s rather green/mossy/herby…
– The product is too thick to be spread out over the scalp (a lot of hair)and you also need a lot of it (almost the whole tub) to get good coverage.
– I find this product really expensive. If you use it like it should (on dry hair / good coverage) you can only get one or two uses out.
– Other than giving my scalp a nice fresh feeling while applied, I didn’t have the feeling it did a lot. Afterwards I didn’t feel any difference. Won’t repurchase.

as someone who uses hair doctor without an itchy scalp (sometimes dry though), i like giving my scalp a little love. the jojoba is moisturizing and the peppermint is fun to put on my hair, though unless you needed this for a dry/itchy scalp or dandruff, i would buy a pretreatment like jasmine henna fluff eaze. cause you need to use a pot or two if you have long hair, like me. i dont mind the smell until you wash it out, then it makes my hair smell like a petco. no good.

I have very itchy dry scalp. I don’t get regular dandruff, but I do constantly itch my scalp and occasionally get little sores. My hair is very mixed in this regard because it gets a sort of dry frizz to it (I’m a natural blonde) but it is also so fine that it gets greasy very easily. I was nervous this would make my hair greasy but not the case. I didn’t apply this to my hair, I wanted to make it last as long as possible because it is not cheap for how little you get (like Marilyn! Needs larger pots!). But I managed to just do my scalp (though it was very very messy) and the tingling sensation was out of this world. My hair had a lot more volume to it (I used curlers right after washing it out) and was totally surprised how much better the volume held at the roots!
For those with very sensitive skin, the tingling was pretty shocking to me. But I knew I needed to solve my itchy scalp ASAP so I dealt with it. Overall, the mildly uncomfortable (I’m sure some people probably love it) sensation was worth it though, my scalp hasn’t been itchy for a few days!
