I probably wouldn’t repurchase this but I’m giving 3 lippies because it’d be ignorant to ignore the ingredient list. For a inexpensive mask at Sally Beauty Supply, the ingredient list is amazing. There’s a ton of natural oils, extracts, and proteins high up in the list (meaning it has a high content of those).
*My* hair in particular seems to love thick silicone and calendula wax more than anything. This does contain silicone, but it somehow is very airy and light. It’s not liquidy and it rinses completely clean. I prefer heavy masks that leave a bit of a coating on the hair. Silicone and waxes add slip to my hair which mimics healthiness. I’m probably in the minority though as most people don’t bleach/tone/olaplex their hair.
Bottom line: if your hair responds well to plant based ingredients – you might love this. Below is the ingredient list I copied from SBS’s website. 🙂
Water, Glycerin, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Dimethicone, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Aleurites Moluccana Seed (Kukui Nut) Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cetrimonium Chloride, Panthenol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Amodimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Esters, PEG-100 Stearate, Fragrance, Beeswax, Hydrolyzed Corn Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Bambusa Vulgaris (Bamboo) Extract, Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Seed Extract, Algae Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Seed Extract, Ganoderma Lucidum (Mushroom) Stem Extract, Dimethiconol, Trideceth-12, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid.

I really like this treatment I bought it because I’ve been colouring my hair for a very long time but recently have had to use bleach. My hair does well with it but my hair finally reached its limit. I was getting breakage and a lot of shedding, it needs so much moisture so I focus on that usually but with the shedding I wanted to try a strengthening product. So I got this at Sallys because I also purchased the kendi oil another great product btw. So with the bogo I purchased this conditioner. I used this as a hair mask for about 30 minutes and was amazed at how soft, manageable, and shiny my hair is. I applied this and chilled out for a while, it rinses clean. Well my hair feels so good it doesn’t make that dry crunching sound anymore. Seriously it was that bad.
My hair was so dull, dry, and lackluster and this product works so well! I didn’t have to pile a bunch on either. I have waist long hair and use a lot of moisturizing products this helped me cut down. My hair is shedding less too. It was really important I find something that works to really make my hair stronger. This seems to be doing that. This is the generic alterna which is great because I have used there styling products and liked them but never this till now. It has really good ingredients like mushrooms. The fragrance I’m kinda surprised it’s strong and smells better once my hair was dry. It’s floral and not an issue to me. I haven’t had my hair feeling this good after colouring in a long time. Recommended 🙂

I was browsing through Sally’s and saw this masque. It had a pretty good ingredient list and it is supposed to be a version of Alterna’s Bamboo line. This is a protein based treatment with a glycerin base. You don’t need to use heat and the directions say to leave it on for seven minutes. It does not have the nicest scent to my nose. It is a strong, floral scent that fades once my hair is finished air drying. However, this makes my curls pop! I still had volume and good texture. It gives decent slip and rinses clean. It helps a lot with frizz too. It was $11.99 but with a Sally’s card, you can get it for a couple of bucks cheaper. My hair doesn’t feel dry or crunchy either. I would repurchase.
