This is an interesting product. It’s a pre-wash hair mask that claims to keep hair frizz-free for ten days following treatment. According to the fine print, they are estimating ten days based on washing hair every other day, so it’s ten days or five shampoos, whichever comes first. I am someone who has to wash my hair pretty much every day, so I’m not getting the full ten days out of it.
So, does it work? Yes, it does work, but with some caveats. I found that I got approximately 4-5 days out of it. I didn’t make it to five shampoos, but I did get several days where my hair had decidedly less frizz. That’s definitely a nice thing.
Usage: you put this stuff on your hair before washing, when your hair is dry. The instructions say to saturate your hair with it. It takes a LOT of product to do your whole head of hair. The bottle estimates it’s good for two uses. My hair is thick, but it’s only chin length, so I’ll probably get three uses out of it, but still, it’s a product that gets used up quickly. If I was using this all the time I’d have to buy at least a bottle a month. You leave the stuff on for ten minutes or so, then shower and shampoo/condition as normal. It is very obvious in the shower that this does not just rinse off the hair with water. I got my hair all wet and the product was definitely still there. I shampooed, and my hair got clean, with no product residue left behind. I could definitely tell my hair had a treatment in it, though. My shampoo, which normally has lots of lather, hardly lathered at all. I then conditioned as normal. Usually once I get out of the shower I use a leave-in conditioning treatment in my hair, but after using this my hair felt like I had already put a leave-in on, so I just let it air dry. It dried less frizzy than it usually would, and gave me several days of more manageable hair.
So, my final analysis. This stuff works, but it requires a LOT of product, and I can’t see myself purchasing a bottle or more of this every month. You may find it worthwhile, and it’s definitely worth a look if your frizz drives you crazy.
