Brilliant hair mask. I loved the Frizz Dismiss shampoo but not the conditioner…and then I tried this! It’s the icing on the cake in this collection. I use it for about 10 minutes (20 if I get the chance) just once a week on towel-dried hair, before rinsing out. Helps soften my hair and ends, and of course tames that dreadful frizz too. Smells lovely, doesn’t leave any residue and doesn’t make my hair greasy by the end of the day either. Will definitely be repurchasing.

I love constantly trying out new stuff – usually sample sizes via e-bay, also plenty courtesy of a friend who works at Sephora)

Sad replacement for the original Smooth Down Butter Treat. I couldn’t get into the Smooth Lock either, which smelled gross, just like Frizz Dismiss. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one. Go with Redken Heavy Cream instead.

This is the replacement for Smooth Lock Butter Silk. Why the fluff would Redken discontinue an amazing conditioner like that & replace it with this horror? The smell is gross but I could get past that if this was any good & it’s just not. It leaves my (fine, coloured) hair looking dull & lifeless. And it’s really expensive. Fail.

This has very nice packaging and has a powdery scent. I think this is supposed to be a reformulated version of the Smooth Down line but I’m not positive. For me, it does a great job of controlling frizz and leaves my hair soft and shiny. It leaves the cuticle smooth and would be nice to use before a blow-dry or when flat-ironing. It is creamy, but thick in consistency. I allow it to sit in my hair for ten minutes. It gives slip and rinsed clean.
