I picked this up on sale at Walgreens, and figured with the coconut, argan and other oils, why not. I’d first tried it on my hair after it had been styled and I wanted to soften it as it felt dry and crunchier from product buildup, and smoothing some in did a nice job of keeping volume but making my hair look and feel somewhat healthier. At that point I thought I’d found a nice leave-in conditioner to touch up my hairstyle here and there.
Then after trying it after I’d shampooed and conditioned, I was pleasantly surprised. My hair is normally very fine, dry and frizzy, and gets really bad when winter kicks in. Let’s just say the way it’s been lately I’ve been considering buying more hats. I color it but don’t heat style it much, but it’s felt super dry and like straw. Adding this to my damp hair after cleansing, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was surprised at how nice my hair felt, and how it felt and looked after drying. Even after sleeping on it overnight, the next morning my hair looked shinier and felt softer. I’ve even been inclined to skip styling products sometimes and just use this — it looks good enough on its own with this added. (That said, I don’t aim for perfect hair, just for hair that doesn’t scream tumbleweed.)
This cream also doesn’t feel heavy or make my hair feel weighted down or greasy. There’s a slight scent to it, but nothing major. It’s just a kind of a mild-ish vanilla-floral-something scent, kind of typical for L’Oreal, but not as strongly fragranced as some of their other options.
Update: Jan. 3, 2017: I’ve been using this regularly since I purchased a couple weeks back, and I’m still enjoying this product. It adds nice softness and makes my hair look nicer when I apply it to wet hair after cleansing. A lot of times I’ll get bored with a product and seek something else, but this one is still drawing me to use and re-use.

My hair has grown so long it is nearly down to my waist. It is processed and I’m sorry but I cannot live without my heat-styling tools. Unfortunately, the ends of my hair have taken a beating and feel like straw. I get the split ends trimmed but because I refuse to hack off more than 1/2 an inch during these trimming session, the ends of my hair still feel like straw. So I intensely started looking for some sort of product to soften the ends. I have tried everything from the very high end to drug store brands to online-only natural products and nothing has really worked. Then I stumbled across some highly reviewed L’Oreal hair care products, and saw what seemed like legit reviews on this particular “Extraordinary Oil Transforming Oil-in-Cream”. Because most of the reviews were quite favorable, I decided, why not? It’s only $6, how can I go wrong? So I bought this and tried it and the minute I put a small amount to the ends of my hair, I was IMMEDIATELY impressed. Like one of the reviews I had read which said, “It melts like butter into my hair”, girl was not kidding.
Never have my ends felt so soft. This stuff is amazing. You can use it as a pre-shampoo cream, an after shampoo leave-in conditioner, you can apply it to wet hair, dry hair, and before using heat styling products! But start off with just a dime-size and if you need more, than add a little more because a little goes a long way and I have a feeling if you use too much, it may start to look greasy.
Now I know it’s probably not going to have the phenomenal effect on everybody but from what I have experienced and from the other reviews I have read, your chances are better than not. The bottle I got says “New” so I have no idea how long it’s been on the market, but omg, I hope they never discontinue it. This has become my HG hair savior!!!
