I am using this with the moisture milk by alterna and the cc cream too. These three products have made my highlighted blonde damaged frizzy curly (fine but lots) Dry hair look normal again. Not sure about breakage or if it’s stopping it or not tho but I do use protein conditioners after shampooing like kerastase/ag/joico. I hope this is helping my hair looks smoother and healthier thou. Will update in a few weeks.

So far so good. I used the caviar repair cream by applying on dry hair first. I actually used a excess amount practically the whole tube. I applied in a downward motion and did not massage in. My hair was really dry and tangled. I did not want to massage in my hair because my hair was already tangled. Sometimes massaging hair even with product makes it more tangled. I let sit for five minutes and rinsed out . Then I immediately followed with Tresseme climate protection conditioner. My hair felt so smooth and silky like liquid gold when following with the Tresseme. I smoothed it in for a minute and my hair felt amazing afterwards. I no longer use shampoo anymore. I conditioner wash and my hair is doing great. My hair is also just as clean as if I washed my hair. Every other month I will do a apple cider vinegar rinse to remove any build up.

The Caviar line has some of my favorite Alterna products like my all-time HG mask (Caviar Repair mask), so the Protein Cream intrigued me once I saw it pop up as a new product as I just so happened to be on the lookout for a leave-in conditioner for my ends (my ends are a bit fried and rough from too much heat styling). The ingredients looked good, lots of silicones and lots of protein and the usual bunch of Alterna’s kitchen sink ingredients. It’s really easy to use, I just work it into towel-dried length after either Caviar Repair shampoo+conditioner or their Intense Oil shampoo+conditioner and run through hair with a wide-toothed comb. What I find though, is that I need a lot of it to really see a difference, like a walnut-sized amount. I have shoulder blade length hair, so that might have something to do with it, but other leave-in products like my HG Alterna CC cream require a lot less, about a hazelnut-sized amount. If I use this cream abundantly then it takes away all the roughness and frizz I have and ends are super soft to touch and not heavy or greasy, which is nice as my fine hair gets greasy and waxy if I use too much or too many products. And of course, hair smells really nice (I happen to like the Alterna Caviar scent). So yes, I find it works as a bit of an instant fix, but next time I wash my hair the benefits are gone, I’ve had protein products that improve hair and the benefits survive at least a couple washes (Joico K-Pak Intense Hydrator, for one). It takes a lot of product to get hair to look/feel nice, and since I get much better results from Caviar Repair mask especially when topped with CC cream or even from just the Caviar Repair shampoo+conditioner alone I don’t find I need another product that just isn’t as good.

I really do not like the strong scent of this product which is long lasting on my hair. It is just an average leave-in treament. Leaves my hair feeling weighed down and limp. I like AG BB hair cream better than this.

I have longish ( just under boob ) natural blonde hair with highlights. I’ve used many leave in creams but all were too heavy for my fine hair. This cream instantly gives me smooth manageability to damp hair, allows me to use sponge rollers without any drying of the ends.
I sleep with my rollers in after using the cream and wake up with shiny soft healthy curls. It’s a must especially if you use rollers. Didn’t give 5 stars as I’m not finished with the product and I’d like to make sure it works the same after several uses

I´ve been using this cream on and off for past years.
And always make sure i have back up.
recently I had over misuturized ( guess its from agadier moisuture mask ) on my hair . My hair become look like strow but feels like soft like cat or baby hair soft.
I thought i did too much protein ,however due to soft feeling.
Since aphogee 2 step treatment is too much fow now.
I did try this alterna cream .all problem is fixed.
Now my hair is back to strong ,thicker ,shine .
I would recommend this cream who need mild protein treatment .
( to me its work more than joico.)
Also mysensitive scalp dont react with it.

I bought this on a whim as part of a kit with the matching shampoo and conditioner at Ulta. I’ve used it once so far. I have color treated hair that I use heat on about 2-3 times a week (blowdrying/curling iron). I noticed an immediate difference in my hair. It was shinier, had much more body, and held curl a million times better. It’s expensive but sooo worth it. I’ve really loved Alterna products and don’t think I’ve ever found a bad one.

UPDATE: I’ve knocked it down one rating point since it doesn’t always play nicely with other products. While this makes my hair smooth, I do need another product to add volume or shine or something. I’ve experimented with various things and some work fine but other, when combined with this cream, leave my hair weighty and dull. Note that I’ve generally used sprays, rather than cream with cream, and tend to use just a little. So it’s still a great product but not necessarily an easy one to use well.
ORIGINAL: This is a terrific product for hair like mine: dry, dull, processed (for me, color and highlights) and resulting damage. Just like many people here claimed, it leaves my hair soft, shiny and feeling/looking healthy. It’s as close as I’ve come to a professional blowout on my own. I’ve got a drawerful of products, most high-end and highly-promoted, and while some are good, none have been great. This is great. So much so that I’ve actually considered putting all the other products out of the way.
I wash and condition with any of my usual stuff then apply about a dime-sized amount of this all over (my hair’s fine and just below the shoulders). Instructions say to concentrate on ends, which I do, but I find it useful all over. I might need to add a little bit more but rarely. The directions say to use it 1-3x a week depending on damage. Since I wash my hair about every 3 days, I use it each time.
Two comments to other posts. Some have noted it’s pretty costly ($35). True. But unless you’ve got extremely long hair and want to use it daily, it’s a very large tube and should last a really long time. Also, several people have claimed it has a strong fragrance. IMO, it barely has a scent upon application, whatever scent is there is not offensive and it vanishes in seconds. While I’m not a fan of fragrant hair products, I’d be willing to overlook it with this stuff since it’s so effective. But I didn’t find a scent even worth considering.

This is a miracle product for damaged hair! It drastically improves the condition of your hair. It contains a lot of protein, but it doesn’t leave your hair dry or stiff like some other protein-heavy leave-in products can. It makes dry and damaged hair shiny and soft. It stops breakage and split ends. I would recommend it to anyone with damaged hair!

I love this product and it has changed the overall condition of my hair for the better. I am almost done with 80% of this product and can safely say it has improved the breakage. I wont say it has completely stopped the breakage but has curbed it a lot. I use this as a leave in then use my other styling products as usual.
