I saw this product at the salon I go to and asked about it. My hairdresser wasn’t familiar with it but the guy in the station next to her couldn’t say enough good things about it. (I didn’t trust him though so I went home and checked the boards here before spending the $$s — it’s $30 at the salon I go to). After reading the reviews, I went back and purchased.
This really does seem to be the grail for thin hair. My first day trying it out was interesting…as I was drying my hair it actually seemed a little frighteningly large, but it settled right down though and was looking pretty darn good when I left the house. (I took the advice of others on the board here and only used 1/2 of an ampoule.) I gave it a couple of checks throughout the day and my initial reaction was “Eh, it’s ok. My hair looks, better than normal, but not hair commercial stunning or anything…or maybe not $30 good”. And then I actually put some thought into what my hair had been through that day — constant drizzle, no umbrella. I also had not used the requisite thickener, mousse, and hairspray that morning before going out. And it was still looking good. And the next day when I got up, still good. I washed the third day but no new treatment. Still good. And good for the following day without a wash too. I’ve used this twice now and am totally sold. Also, I think that this doesn’t mess up the texture of your hair as much as some other products (like the Biosilk thickeners or Rusk Thikr mousse).
Plus I am buying the rest of the line to try since this is working out so well.
Also, I didn’t notice a smell. My nose is either immune or they’ve reformulated. My husband didn’t complain either and he’s usually pretty quick to comment.

I bought the body double shampoo, conditioner, and treatment in a bag at Trade Secret in the Maine Mall. I have been using the shampoo and conditioner for 2 weeks and I really like it! I used the treatment on the first day and it was really awesome. I have fine hair and it can get a little flat, but it was also about 12 weeks since my last trim when I used it so I can’t imagine how good it would have looked the day of or after my trim. 🙂 I’ll buy it again to use with the shampoo and conditioner. My hair is starting to get a little flat despite the shampoo and conditioner so I suspect I’ll need to use the treatment again. A few days ago I just used the primer to see what that would do, and it made my hair flat and crappy. 🙂 Don’t try that. Next time I will not use the whole little tube thing, even though it told me to. They just say that to make you buy more. 😀

My holy grail for easy volume. Application is tricky. The first phase is liquid and it constantly drips all over my face and down my back. The ampoules are THE WORST. I have purchased the kit and bolume containers at least 6 or 7 times. The kit ALWAYS has at least 1 ampoule that has opened. I’ve returned about 20% of the ampoules purchased over the course of a year. That said, it is easy to use too much of the phase II ampoules (thick gel) and end up with greasy hair.
Overall though, this is absolutely fantastic. Most days I’ll use 1/2 ampoule (I have waist length hair but it is super fine, permed and highlighted).
What I notice beyond the immediate “thickening” is that this is the first product that controls flyaway while thickening. I adore this and Philip B White Truffle Shampoo. (and Kerastase).
