Matrix Biolage Smoothing Shine Milk is my absolute favorite leave-in styling spray. I have an issue with hair texture differences on different parts of my head. In the back and sides, hair is thick and unruly, wavy and a bit frizzy as well. Hair on the top of my head is much finer and straighter. So, I use this Smoothing Shine Milk to help equalize the texture differences–I spray abundantly on the wavy parts of my hair, and then a bit more sparingly on the top. The formula is extremely heavy with silicones, but that allows me to comb out hair with very little difficulty as it makes short work of tangles in wet hair. The smoothness of the formula also really helps with styling. I usually blow out my hair so that the wavy parts look more smooth and match the top of my head, and this formula helps the brush move through those thicker areas with ease. It adds a nice shine as well, and I never notice any buildup that can’t be removed by normal shampooing the next day. I would say this is not so much for creating volume, as the waxes tend to allow the hairs to lay more flat and move easily as individual hairs.
I recently ran out, and couldn’t find it in the store anymore, so ended up ordering from Amazon. It has a new package now, but the formula seems the same. I tried to find something similar in an different brand, and the closest thing that comes to it is Frizz Ease Dream Curls, except that the Frizz Ease isn’t quite as good at detangling and smoothing. The Biolage will definitely be my styling spray of choice from now on!

My hair dresser had been trying to talk me into buying this for years. Saying it would help with frizz and blah blah. Well, I didn’t believe her until I tried it. Now, I’m not sure I’ll ever give it up. This product is amazing. It detangles hair and tames frizz without giving the hair a wet/greasy look. The scent is pleasant and one bottle lasts a long time (I’ve had this one for over a year).

I no longer use this, but for no good reason. It’s a great product.
It was my HG leave in for several years. My hair likes cones. This left my hair smooth, lightly scented and with a light hand did not add any extra weight. Packaging was fine, typical spray bottle. Though I found myself spraying it into my hand and emulsifying, then running my hands through my hair. I would mix a spritz or two of this with a little dab of coconut oil. Amazing.
The bottle lasted me at least a year, so for me the price was fair.

This is a nice product. I like to spray it on my scrunched curls after they air dry to soften any crunch left by gel. This does add shine but it isn’t a leave in conditioner. It isn’t a serum and it doesn’t have any hold to it. It left me grasping for what to do with it. Over all as a shine spray it does help a little. Smells very good just like other biolage products.

I routinely use Matrix Biolage conditioner and shampoo, so I purchased this without hesitation and was very disappointed. Yes, it effectively smoothed my hair, but it definitely did not add sheen or shine to my hair. I expected it to do both because the product name is Smoothing Shine Milk.

I love their shampoo, so I decided to buy this smoothing shine milk because my hair still not behave after air dry, my goal is to grow my hair long without naturally without blow dryer. I have very poor hair growth, thinning and falling. Now my hair is growing back after biolage shampoo, and avalon rosemary volumizing conditioner then add this spray after towel dried hair. Next morning, I use hot rollers, wow!!! My hair looks so much healthier, smoother, and overall very soft and shiny hair. Try it, it’s best result to spray on wet hair not dry hair. 🙂

What an interesting product! It smells incredible, I second the motion to make a lotion, soap, etc with this scent. I personally don’t need to spray too much, 4-6 depending on how mangy my hair feels.
Now this is not a moisturizing spray!! I still have to use a serum (preferably my Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum) and maybe a little leave in conditioner. But using this prevents my hair from snagging at the ends when I run my fingers through my hair, gives it a light flowy feel. I get maybe compliments every time I use this.
For girls who are trying to go for a more natural alternative, I recommend the Phyto 7 or 9 (depending on dryness). I dont like it as much, but is still a great buy!

I love this product, I spritz a ton of it on the ends of my hair and brush it through the rest while it’s damp, then let it air dry. My hair isn’t especially dry or frizzy, but it definitely doesn’t look very healthy on its own. It’s wavy and fine, not thin or thick, it’s somewhere in between. I have a feeling this helped prevent my ends from splitting as quickly as they normally do, as this is the only treatment product I use. It doesn’t make it especially shiny, but it does smooth it out and make it feel quite soft without feeling even a tad bit greasy. I don’t know why anyone would use this on dry hair, as the bottle states you should spritz it sparingly on moist, towel dried hair.

I bought this product while surfing through the aisle at my local CVS looking for something that I could possible use as a leave in for my hair to avoid it from frizzing (washed/unwashed). I have long, soft, naturally curly hair (Indian) and try to wash it two times a week the most. The product looked pretty interesting so I went ahead and purchased it.
If you have curly hair you know that when it’s dry and you brush it’s like a Donna Summers 70s flashback moment, getting ready for work, I combed my hair and sprayed it on….nothing really happened. Wherever the spray hit was a sleek and straight and wherever it didn’t was just super frizzy but thank goodness I had a little bit of my Sebastian #9 leave in conditioning spray left so that took care of my hair that morning. I used it a few more times on dry hair (with and without combing) and really was not impressed at all…the bottle barely sprayed and it left sections of my hair really limp and straight; lets not fail to mention the amount of times both my husband and I almost broke our necks because a bit got on our floors.
I decided maybe if I used it on damp hair it would really be the product I was hoping for. That weekend after I washed my hair I sprayed some in and let it air dry. Nothing. It did absolutely nothing, my hair was soo frizzy like I didn’t put anything in it at all. I really want to return this product and get my money back but not sure what CVS’ return policy is on hair care items. :/
