YANAGIYA APRICOT HAIR OIL
There aren’t a lot of English reviews out there for this product, so I decided to add in my two cents!
Background: This is an anzu (apricot) oil from Yanagiya, established in 1615. Although labeled as a hair oil, this oil is multipurpose – you can use it to moisturize your skin on the face and body. The ingredients listed are: apricot kernel oil, tocopherol (vitamin E), and fragrance. Smelling sweet, this oil is housed in a dark glass bottle. The packaging looks medicinal in a way.
Apricot oil is hailed for its anti-aging and restorative properties, such as reducing fine lines and wrinkles and reviving the skin’s elasticity. It also has a very close resemblance to sebum like jojoba oil, so massaging it into your skin helps with fighting dryness and overproduction of oil. The oleic acid in apricot oil penetrates the hair cuticle making it softer and more pliable to work with.
This product in particular won a Cosme award in 2013. The price for 60mL is $13.99.

Whew OK.
What I like to do is sprinkle a few drops of oil into my palms, rubbing them together to warm it up, and applying it through my ends and then brushing through with a comb dedicated to this treatment. For the face, I’ll do the same thing and massage over my cheeks and forehead and nose (where blackheads and plugs tend to be) and over the course of a few days, voila! the plugs come out!
I really love multipurpose oil, and this is product is no exception. It’s fragrant, and definitely moisturizes my dry skin making it bouncey and radiant. As a hair oil, it takes frizz and static! It can be a little greasy on the hair if you overapply since it’s not a dry oil, but once you learn the right ratios for you hair and face, magic happens.
