I wanted to add a little extra moisture and heat protection to my dry hair before using my curling wand, so I gave this a try. I already use (and love) the Redken blowout lotion on wet hair pre-blowdry. Although on the bottle of this spray it says it can also be used on dry hair, I would argue against it. It made my hair feel tangled, rough and almost greasy. It never really “dried” and also had a really strong product smell that gave me a minor headache. It is definitely not a lightweight styler and created more problems than benefits. It was almost more of a “beach texture” effect rather than smoothing or softening! I lost a ton of hairs brushing and styling with this in because it made my hair so rough and sticky. I ended up having to wash it out, the result was so unpleasant. Although I’ve liked some of the other NYM products in the past, this one was not a winner for me. Outcomes may vary on wet hair or other hair textures, obviously (I’ve got long, in between wavy-and-straight hair with some several months old growing out balayage dyed sections) but you may want to try to mini version and see if you like it before buying the full size. That’s the one good thing going for it – at least NYM’s products are always reasonably priced!

Ooooh I LOVE this stuff! I’d always wanted to try the It’s a 10 treatment, but didn’t want to pay the high premium for it. When I spotted this, I did a bit of research to see if it was a dupe and many people seem to think so. Picked this up at Target for around $7 and I’ve used it every day since. My thin, fine hair has been less frizzy, easier to brush and manage, and has been silky smooth.
The price is fantastic, considering the fact that it comes in about $15 less than It’s a 10.
The packaging is sort of unattractive, but that’s a matter of opinion. However, the spray pump is fantastic, and doesn’t dispense large drops. Rather, it releases a mist that covers my hair evenly with each spray.
I’ve used this when blowdrying and when air drying my hair, and it works beautifully either way.
I will DEFINITELY repurchase!

I was using Sally Beauty’s dupe for It’s a 10, but I like this one just as much in terms of how it helps to protect my hair and keep it moisturized. The thing that keeps me going back to this product over Sally’s version is that it is slightly less expensive and it is easier to access due to being in more store. The scent of this isn’t my favorite, because it is a little perfumey, but it doesn’t seem to linger in my hair. Overall, this is a solid staple product for my dry, color-treated hair.

I know I am a product junkie but obviously in my crazy world, I am doing something right because I get lots of compliments about my hair. Growing up, I was not blessed with that much hair. In addition to a very thin set of hair, my hair was frizzy and rebellious. Some trace of frizz and lots of rebell keep coming back. I fight these with new products. Not all win the battle but this product did amazingly well. I tried this on dry hair first. I used my curling iron and my hair got so silky that I couldn’t stop touching my hair. I then tried it on damp hair. My Goodness, this product is truly a 10. It detangled and it softened. I had less hair fall. My hair was tamed and from my bangs to my long hair in the back, every strand looked and felt healthy. Great product and highly recommended!
