I have difficult hair. It’s fine, wavy, prone to frizz and lightened to light ash blonde. As it gets to my shoulders, it gets thinner and weak from breakage. When I blow it straight, it looks great for the day, but when I wake up the next morning, the bottom half is wavy and fuzzy. My GHD flat iron only makes it look straight and fried. Sigh.
This was an impulse buy online from Sephora. This review is for the mini, at $59. If you have fine hair, or shorter hair, I recommend the mini. This really works. I couldn’t believe how well it worked. I sprayed the bottom half of my hair with Kristen Ess dry conditioner, and used the hot brush on the underside of the hair, with a bit of tension, curling it under. Boom. Swinging, long bob. I was able to do this on DAY 3 as well. I’m so glad Sephora made this irresistible to me.

This was a bit of an impulse buy…I’d seen a write-up about it in a fashion magazine, and it looked pretty easy to use. When I tripped over it on the Sephora website, I decided to pull the trigger. It’s not cheap – $145+ – but it’s super easy to use, and it works! I have wavy, frizzy hair that used to be much more curly, but now looks better worn straight, and this device works super fast. I basically just brush it straight on the first pass, then go back and gently turn pieces under on the second pass. Done. Obviously, it will involve a bit more work if your hair is super curly. You can’t curl hair like you can with a flat iron, but this is faster. My hair is medium-long, and fairly thick, and I got through everything in about 10 minutes. Note that there is a temperature control – it goes up to 450 degrees. Very happy with this purchase!
