I got an Ibiza boar brush included with my anh co Tran MasterClass. I thought oh wow a $50 brush I doubt this will be worth that much money. I never would have bought one if I didn’t get it for free in a million years. But now that I’ve tried it…. wow I can’t ever go back to another round brush. It grips the hair so easily that even my fine hair easily has enough tension for a smooth blowout. Usually I had to wrap my hair all the way around the brush or it would just fall right out. You don’t have to create tension with the Blowdry nozzle at all with this brush which is also way better for your hair. This brush is amazing. I’ll definitely buy this again and again now.

This review is for the Ibiza Blonde Boar Bristle brush B5 size, purchased online from Nordstrom’s. I am learning self-blowdry’s at home because my hair got overbleached at salon so now all my focus is on repairing, protecting, and making it look as nice as possible while it grows out. I learned of this brand and model while reading about “glass hair” trend. I noticed the boar was specifically recommended for smoothing, and all I had was Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion, which were frazzling my hair, I believe because I have very fine, damaged hair.
So I splurged, ordered brush, waited, weekend deep-condition and color touch-up time came. I used Kenra Platinum Blow-Dry Mist instead of ColorWow Dreamcoat for something lighter that doesn’t need to last 3 shampoos. WOW! I’m sorry that I didn’t know get this sooner. I had a huge difference in fly-aways and brittle-looking ends compared to ceramic round brush. My hair had perfect volume, smoothed out, just a slight bend at the ends. It looked sexy and calm.
I returned my Olivia Garden’s size 65 and 80, but kept the 55 XL just to try again someday when my hair is healthier. Also I think I was dragging through like I saw in one video vs. rocking/rolling up/down so this might have contributed to hair anger.
I highly recommend this brush if you have fine-very fine, dry, brittle hair and still want to blow dry once in a while.

I treat myself to a new one of this approx. every 24 months (I’m a germaphobe). It is one of the single greatest things I own and makes a WORLD of difference in the outcome of my home blowouts. The description below reflects how and why this brush works much better than other round brushes I have tried. Love love love this and cannot recommend it highly enough for someone who loves hair and great tools at home. Worth every penny and it is my secret to doing home blowouts that look as good as those done in the salon.

OMG…if you are wondering, like I was why this brush is so expensive, here is why. First of all the long cork handle makes it so easy to maneuver and grip. But most importantly is the way the bristles grip hair. I have dozens of round brushes, but none of them compare to this. The brush grips the hair SO smoothly and with just the perfect amount of tension. It does not catch or tangle. It glides through my hair but my texture is straight and fine and I have lots of it so I don’t know how this would work for coarser hair. I have never in my life been able to replicate a salon blow-out, until now. Whomever made this brush is genius! The brush is made in Spain, just btw.
