I don’t find this product very effective at treating ingrown hairs, although it does help minimise them a bit. The reason I still gave it 4 stars is because it seems to work quite well as a hair retardant to prevent the hairs from growing back. I use it on my bikini line like a moisturiser after exfoliating in the shower. Perhaps that’s how it’s supposed to work, the info says “Palmitate Plant Extracts emulsify (soften) the skins surface and gradually dissolve the root of the hair. The process allows fining of the hair follicle and softens the surrounding skin, which prevents ingrown hairs, reduces the pain of waxing and slows down hair growth.” If you really want to get rid of ingrown hairs I recommend using a good exfoliating mitt (I like Riffi) and/or ‘ingrow go’ just don’t use them both at the same time (ingrow go burns after exfoliating).

I used the medi paste for treating ingrown hairs after waxing. When used properly it works really well. Have repurchased and will continue to buy this product. It’s a thick paste with a strong tea tree-like scent, wouldn’t be good for larger areas.

“Prevents ingrown hairs, eases the discomfort of waxing, retards hair growth”
“1. Use prior to hair removal for longer lasting hair removal
2. Use after hair removal as the enzymes weaken the papilla and hair follicle, retarding hair growth
3. Ensures ingrown hairs do not become a problem”
I’ve used this product for a while now and it works pretty freakin well. If I actually stuck to using it as often as it suggests I’d probably be ingrown free. There are 3 products in the Bump eRaiser range at chemist warehouse and at $12.69 I think it’s a damn good price.
I try to use it every day(I only use it on my legs) after I’ve showered but on occasion only make it to several times a week and it tends to last quite a while. I’ve tried 2 out of 3 products available, this one goes on smooth, absorbs well and leaves my skin feeling nice and soft, I often use it as a moisturiser. and this one is my preferred.
The medi-paste was as stated, very pastey. I didn’t enjoy the smell, or putting it on and it took ages for it to “settle” on the skin – not a fan.
Compared to Nad’s ingrown solution – this one is a clear winner. If you suffer from ingrowns you should definitely give this a try.
