This is my first epilator, purchased because a blogger raved about it. I usually shave (legs, armpits), wax (upper lip, legs on occasion, bikini line), and will tweeze stray hairs. I found it appealing to get waxing results at home and with less mess, and I was really interested in being able to get rid of that underarm “shadow” from my dark hair follicles. So far, I love it, but I have yet to do more than a quick pass at the underarm area because it really hurts. Pain level is comparable to waxing or threading for me. (I have never been able to make it through a full underarm wax session either). This takes a little longer than it does to shave the area, and definitely less time than at home waxing. I love the massaging head because I really do think it helps with the pain. The light is also very helpful because it highlights hairs I would otherwise notice. If it’s your first time, I would try putting some ice on the area first to numb it a little, and plan to do this a day or two before you need to bare the skin, just in case it makes your skin red and irritated. Ingrown hairs are always a problem for me, but I will update if I have more issues than usual. At least for my legs, I will never go back to shaving or waxing!

Good epilator but battery lasts so little. Need to fully charge it 4 times to epilate my legs and arms -_-

I’ve had my epilator for about 7 years now to replace my old epilator. It’s still going strong.
I’ve epilated since I was 18. When I first epilated it was very painful, but I put up with the pain and after about a year it stopped hurting. I only epilate my legs now, I got laser on my underarms. But occasionally I still get a start underarm hair and I use this to get it out.
I love how this has a shaver attachment, very handy especially for the bikini area. I also think the led light is really good to help you see all those fine hairs that are easy to miss. I find this great for travelling.
Over the 7 years the battery has died, so it only lasts one use (15mins) and I have to recharge. But for me that’s enough to do my legs. I epilate about once a week, which I understand most people think it’s alot, but hair grows in patches and different time cycles. Plus you not going to get all the hair first go.
I haven’t shaved my legs since I was 18 and I’m 34 now! My leg hair is really fine these days, plus I like only having to epilate one a week rather than shaving every 2nd day.
Drawbacks, like waxing I get ingrown hairs on my legs… I just need to exfoliate more regularly.
Will probably need to eventually buy a new one, but I’ll wait until the battery gives up.

Let’s just start with my first initial thought after using it: painful but tolerable. I ended up doing my entire body the first day of buying it because I was eager to see if it would seriously last 19 days like stated; Nope. Next day I had stubble everywhere! Not only that but I ended up getting little pimples at the base where the hair was popping out- the hair that was removed efficiently and the ones that were cut off at the base. A week later and still left with it all over my body. If it wasn’t for the fact that it doesn’t actyally rip the hair out or that it breaks you out; I would of kept it. Sent it back and got a refund- on a hunt for one that actually works!

This product was initially a good product, it’s easy to use and convenient with lasting power. You will only need to charge once and it will last for a week. BUT the downside is that the life of this epilator only last not more than 2 years. No matter how long you charge, within seconds the power runs really low and you basically need to charge it for every single use and ensure per usage does not last more than a minute.

It works nicely, but I had ingrowns, not the products fault. I love the shaver attachment, I prefer using instead (it actually does feel silky)
I don’t like that it can’t be used while it’s charging. Otherwise it’s very handy, way better than shaving (weird bumps etc…). I had it for approx. 5 yrs now, still going fine
+Forgot to add… it’s very loud & yes it hurts!

Overall: Well worth paying the expense for having an all bells and whistles epilator. Don’t skimp on your epilator; it will make the work that much more painful! I would recommend this and will be buying it again when mine dies. I will not be returning to shaving as it’s too cost inefficient and labor intensive. I’m not going back, y’all!

Experience:
I love this thing! It takes me 30 minutes to epliate legs and upper lip but I don’t have to do either for 3.5 week at a stretch. There is pain, yes, but it is manageable and tolerable if you prep well. Leg pain is 3 on a 10 scale, upper lip pain is a 4 on a 10 scale. I tried armpits and felt a 7 out of 10 on pain scale; will be getting numbing topical gel for this one. No way will I get this thing near my hooha! I’m sharing my routine as other members shared theirs and helped me set a good routine and buy a great product.
My routine for legs:
trim hair to correct epilation length to reduce snagging
exfoliate skin using exfoliation cloths to dislodge ingrown hairs and remove dead skin cells against surface of skin
start epilation speed at lowest level and moving to highest level as comfort increases being sure to move against direction of hair growth in 2″x2″ circular patterns across leg whilst holding leg skin taut
use small light as I go to check against missed hairs
after hair is removed, use witch hazel to clean skin
use tweezers to clean up any missed hairs
apply Azulene oil to calm and soothe skin
My routine for upper lip:
I exfoliate my face on the regular so I don’t use the exfoliation cloths here
epilate at lowest level being sure to move against direction of hair growth in ~1cm circular patterns across upper lip whilst holding skin taut
to reduce pain: rub finger across epilation area after each pass to encourage stimulus overload of nerve endings; this causes numbing of upper lip as I go
use small light as I go to check against missed hairs
after hair is removed, use witch hazel to clean skin
use tweezers to clean up any missed hairs
apply Azulene oil to calm and soothe skin
My routine between epilation sessions:
Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! This is the single factor to reduce or eliminate ingrown hairs. I don’t use a chemical exfoliant as I have coarse hair that is stubborn as a mutha and will grow into the skin if at all possible. I scrub the hell out of my legs with a loofah, daily, and works like a charm. Lotion to keep my legs looking so fresh and so clean.

Love this! As someone who used the original “Epilady,” I must say epilators have come a long long way! This works great and so much more comfortable to use than the older devices. I also love having the razor attachment option which I use when I’m in a hurry, or to run over my skin after I’ve already epilated…just to catch anything I may have missed. I do still have some difficulty using the epilator under my arms. But I think that’s just me, and the fact that my underarm skin is not as tight as it could be (and it’s hard to hold it tight and operate the device at the same time). So I often use the razor for my underarms. Holds a charge for a nice long time.

Waxing or epilation have always been my preferred methods of hair removal so generally a little bit of pain was not a problem for me. I’ve had this epilator for about 3 years now, and it’s a fairly good product but there is nothing that really sets it apart from the other epilators for me. I found that it’s a bit too pricey, and compared to cheaper epilators it isn’t that much better. Recently the epilation head on my device stopped working, and it’s not due to the battery. The “engine” is still working fine, it’s still spinning and I can use the shaving head. However, just the epilation head doesn’t work at all anymore, and it should last much longer than 3 years especially since my hair is fine. I always clean the epilation head after each use, so I’m not sure what happened. I spoke to someone from Braun, however they didn’t really help, so I just unscrewed the head and cleaned it from the inside. Afterwards I put all of the parts together properly, and it still didn’t work. I think it might be because the gears within the epilation head are plastic, and it might be that they wear out quickly – I don’t know.
