Perfect for when I don’t have the time (nor inclination) to do a root touch up and cover those greys before they become too noticeable. It’s inexpensive and lasts a good few days. No issues with scalp itching which I’ve read about in other reviews. The only issue I have with Root Cover Up is the transfer onto my pillow case, but this generally only happens once every blue moon if I experience a night sweat. Basically the perspiration from my scalp carries some of the color off, especially if I remain in one position and my scalp cannot get air to dry out. Even then the color run onto my pillowcase isn’t anything that my washing machine can’t sort out!

The color, price and application method are fine. What is not OK is the crummy dry texture it leaves behind and how the color comes off on your fingers even after the color has dried.

So easy to use and buys a good bit of time between touch ups, however I didn’t like the matte effect on the roots which i felt was visible in stronger lights. HOWEVER, I have found that if you spray this on the root at NIGHT and then wash and style in the morning, then it still leaves colour on the hair even after shampooing and it looks natural and shiny! AMAZING! Lasts one shampoo. Just apply to the relevant areas the night before you wash and voila, you really cannot tell you have anything on your hair and the greys are gone!

YES! I will absolutely purchase this again when it runs out! I have ash blonde hair and this buys me TONS of time before getting a color again. I use it on my scalp part and just above my cheekbones (where I tuck my hair behind my ears). I think I paid $10 for a small can at Walmart and it goes forever – totally worth it. Try it if you just need touch-ups. It’s perfect.

I dye my hair black my roots are white.Of course within 2 weeks the roots are already showing and progressively looking worse.I guess black is the easiest color to match. The spray does look quiet matte. My hair isn’t very shiny so it’s not a problem. After a shampoo the roots are still pretty well covered. I usually go about 2 months before I dye my roots again. So this product is definitely something I like to have around. Only complaint is it’s a bit expensive.

This product makes my scalp itch like mad! I had to wash my hair after work because this spray felt like torture along my hairline and at the crown and part. I have dark hair and it did cover the roots in the dark brunette shade but was awfully dark. I think the product runs dark. If it didn’t make me itch, I’d probably go for medium brown rather than dark brown but I don’t think I will be buying it again. I’m going to pass this on to a friend or return it.

Wonderful! Buys you some time until you can color the roots! Originally purchased light to medium blonde but it wasn’t dark enough – gray roots were still there! Purchased dark blonde and perfecto! Blends in perfectly and stays until I wash it out – which is 2-3 days since my hair isn’t oily. Perfect especially for when something unexpectedly comes up and there is no time for coloring the hair.

I have dark hair and i dye it dark, but it’s something I absolutely hate doing so I always put it off for as long as possible. Being 35 unfortunately i have a few greys… this stuff is brilliant at covering roots ans greys. I have no issue with stickiness and the colour match is fine. But.., it does transfer a little and can make my head itchy. Overall i keep buying as I haven’t found anything better.

This stuff is pretty good at covering up those gray roots that start peeking out around the hairline but not quite bad enough to do a full color yet. It doesn’t feel sticky or gummy unless you use a lot — at that point you should just go ahead and color again. Price is not bad. I always get a new one when I run out.
Edit: I still really like this product! It can be used on dry hair too, but I have found that for the most natural look, apply it to damp hair once you’ve detangled it. I spray right along root line and part, and after it’s dry it looks great with no stickiness. This has definitely helped me squeak out a few more days with a fading color.

This stuff is just ok. The thing that bugged me was the sprayer broke with about half the can left. I will not buy this again even if it is inexpensive
