This product is good if you use it right. Unlike a lot of other purple shampoos and treatment masks that claim to “tone out yellow, gold, brassy tones”, but actually do nothing but clutter your bathroom shelf with sh**, this actually works.
Yes. It does something. It must have some kind of (OMG) active ingredient!
Okay. Because it works, and is so immediately effective, you must be careful with it. I have light blonde hair after I bleach my roots, and sometimes there is quite a bit of “yellow” left. I place this on the yellow part only (never on white parts!). Unless I want the white parts to turn bluish grey (which some people might be into). I only leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes (depending how bad it is and I watch carefully to make sure I’m not turning blue/purple/grey).
Some people complain about this bluish effect, but that’s the thing. With products that work, and do what they say they do, you have to be careful to not overdo it and to only put the product where you want the effect to occur. Purple/blue counteracts yellow/orange, so it doesn’t belong over white unless you want the white to be purply/blue-silver. Or the non-beigey bits to turn greyish beige.
Yes, it can suck sometimes because it works for its intended purpose.
Unlike those gimmicky stupid purple conditioners that I am safe to leave on as long as I like because they do nothing.
So, I’d buy this again if I was in a hurry and couldn’t get my hands on a professional toner. Otherwise I’d select Fudge Hair Paint 9.2 Very Violet Blonde mixed with a developer. I put this on my yellowest parts first for about 5 minutes, then add more to my less-yellow roots another 5 and then a bit through the rest of my hair a few minutes. Not recommending this. Just saying what finally worked for me. Most toners are either too silver-grey, too ash/green, too goldey-orangey warm for me.
