   Not quite sure why this has such low ratings. I have natural dark ash blonde that’s about 75% gray; Nice n Easy used to be the best I’d found for covering grey with a natural look and I used it for years. They changed the formula a couple of years back and it no longer covered grey as well.
   Excellence dark blonde and light brown (6 and 7) do an excellent job of covering the grey and the color lasts almost four weeks before touch up is needed. It has a serum in the box that is applied to the lengths of hair to protect it prior to coloring, and the conditioner works great also. My hair is silky and conditioned after coloring. I have better results with this than using colors from Sally’s also…the Clairol Professional, Age Beautiful, and Morrocan Oil. I like how easy it is to use and it’s all-in one; no buying the bottle, gloves, color, and developer separately.

   Terrible, just terrible color match. I knew this would come out darker as everyone else mentioned, but never though it would turn out Jet Black. I bought mine at Sally and it comes in the blue box. I chose 5.0, and 5.1, which are medium brown, and ash medium brown. Both of these turn Jet Black, so black it looks blue-ish black. The tips turned out darker than the roots, which could’ve been due to the porosity and dryness of my hair.
   ** It stings your eyes, and burned my scalp. It has a strong smell. If you like L’oreal, try Majirel, it is the true professional line of this brand. It is made for sensitive scalps and will not damage your hair. I have never had a problem with Majirel.
   I will go to the beauty salon tomorrow to fix this hot mess.

   Since my last review, I switched hair dressers, and I have had my hair stripped since I am addicted to coloring it myself. (It’s a wonder I still have hair!) While I love L’Oreal Hi-Color for dark hair in Vanilla Champagne. I always have to try something different. This time I tried L’Oreal Excellence Creme Extreme Blondes in B2 which is Light Beige Blonde on the box. Makeup Alley says it is Natural Dark Blonde and they have it correct! Except that mine came from Sally’s and was in a Yellow box, and my color has a softer tone than the ones in the picture. Anyway, I hoped for a lighter blonde and when I pulled the towel off I was almost frantic! Thank goodness I had also purchased Wella Color Charm T15 (pale beige blonde) to go with this, with a 20 developer. It was a reddish color! I ALWAYS use a 30 developer (2.5 oz) for 45 minutes with L’Oreal. I put the toner on for 20 minutes, I was afraid to leave it longer because I noticed my hair was getting darker, and darker. When I washed it out, I can say that my hair is a beige, dark blonde color, pretty much like Make Up Alley has it described, but I thought because the swatch was lighter and my hair was so blonde, that I would be lighter. Nope. I mean it really almost looks natural, if you didn’t know that my natural hair color was dark brown. My eyebrows are lighter, so maybe I will grow to love it and stick with it, who knows. My husband really liked it when he came home, so hey. Maybe I can update later?

   I used this color a few weeks ago and my review of this is from a double review I posted under the L’Oreal various colors reviews..

   From 5/10/13…*7 Dark Blonde*

   So since I have to go lighter I figured I give this a shot.

   I used Color Oops to remove all the brown dye (wich worked awesome!) and put this in. Well I knew that the color could pull dark(and expected it to) but this went darker then I would have liked and with going thru the reviews on here and elsewhere that this color does go darker so I know its not just me.

   So I still gave this a good go and while it did lighten a little..it went to a very flat dull looking light brown =( My husband and other ppl have told me that it looks nice but idk to me I look washed out and my hair looks dingy and flat..and my greys are showing!!!!!!! Grrrrr. So after a week… tonight this color will be history thanks to Color Oops and moving on to a Ion color wich will be reviewed as well.

   7 Dark Blonde gets 1 lippie…I wish the color was better and a little brighter.

   Also too this brand of hair dye hasn’t been very drying on my hair wish is a plus.

   Overall my rating of this brand in a whole is a 3..mainly due to it not really holding up well with grey coverage as my greys come thru fierce lol and I’m only 38! re dyeing every 2 weeks is a no for me and sometimes only after 7days of dyeing they start showing =(

   First of all I must congratulate L’Oreal – out of the half dozen or so of their hair dyes I’ve used, this has been the one that matched the colour of the model on the box the most…

   … at first, anyway. Sigh. This shade has also stood out for me, as it has been the quickest one to fade. Within three weeks of using this product my hair colour faded to a lighter blonde. Some people may love this effect, but lighter shades of blonde look awful against my skintone – people regularly ask me if I’m ill, as it really washes me out.

   But the biggest drawback for me is that this does not colour my roots well, even though the colour swatches on the back of the box assures me that it will colour everything the same shade. In fact it makes my roots look darker then they really are.

   Oh well – back to the haircare section in Boots for me…
