Not super-impressed with this product. I purchased it based on positive reviews of beauty editors and reviewers at Ulta where I do lots of my shopping. Should have consulted MUA as well! It’s not a terrible product. The dark brown shade I selected did a fairly good job matching my roots with my colored hair, although my results would be better if there was a dark auburn option. The only color options were red and a variety of cool-toned browns. Additionally, the product didn’t provide much grey coverage at all. And that’s the main thing I wanted it to do. For less than $10 USD, I could have used a box of Clairol Natural Instincts and gotten a better (albeit not perfect) result.

I’ve repurchased this and think it works well. I just picked up another brand that’s cheaper and it works too so if you like this KIND of product, then you should try the less expensive ones to see if they work for you. I haven’t tried using this and then getting super sweaty to see if it lasts, but for regular going to the office sort of wear, there’s no problem.

I started going grey at 16.. and now 30 years later.. I am REALLY grey. So no joke, on the calendar every 3 weeks I get my roots touched up (thankfully, my hubby helps and we use profession color) But, my hair grows very quickly and in no time i get a silver runway. I do have highlights.. so i tried 2 colors of the color wow. The dark brown and the darker blonde. This is just what I need those last couple of days before getting my roots done when normally I’d just throw on a hat. It is expensive… but I love the brush for application. I’m debating when I’m done whether I’ll try to use cheap brown eye shadow (which I used to do but never had a good brush for application) So.. expensive, yes. But it beats a hat or sporting grow out IMO. I have NOT tried the Rita Hazen spray though and that is next on my list…

This worked really well as eyebrow color. I only needed a tiny little brush to fill in gaps and add definition, so it would have lasted forever for that purpose. I only needed to apply once a day. Lasting power was amazing compared to waxy pens. However, my husband dropped it on the floor and it shattered. Back to using eyebrow mousse and Gimme Brow, but will def repurchase when I get near an Ulta store

WOW is right! This is the best root touch up product ever for me. Comes in a portable small oblong compact with creme and powder based product inside and a perfect application brush. Comes in every color imaginable and is easy to use Doesn’t spill or flake Waterproof and doesn’t rub off in rain or if it gets wet. Only comes off with shampoo. Works like a charm on roots and bald spots (of which I have one near a cowlick). Awesome stuff – LOVE it. I’ve tried sprays, powders, powder fillers, etc. and none compare to this one! Definitely recommend highly!

you really have to keep packing it on to cover up grey, and you get a tiny bit for 34.00
not worth it, i will buy the one for 10.00 next time

My hair grows very fast – my stylist tells me this is a sign of good health, but it’s not so healthy for my wallet as I have both highlights and lowlights done and it’s a costly and time consuming procedure so to extend the time between colourings, I had been using Roux Tween Time touch up stick which is a good and inexpensive product. The downside is that it leaves my hair “crunchy” where I apply it. So when I saw Color Wow powder, I thought GREAT!!!! and bought it. This is $40 in Canada (compared with about 10 bucks for the Roux stick). I do find it works really well (though the longer end of the double sided brush is useless but the stubbier, firmer side works well). BUT…. For a few days, I couldn’t figure out why the undersides of my fingernails were looking really grubby and unhygienic – as though I’d been digging in the garden. I realized it was THIS POWDER! Any time I’d run my fingers through my hair – which I do a lot – or scratch my head, the powder would come off under my nails. This never happens with the Roux stick. So while I will keep this and use it from time to time, it’s back to Roux for me – I can live with the “crunchiness” (applying it to wet hair and combing or brushing it through seems to minimize the crunchiness) more than I can live with dirty looking fingernails.

Quite surprised at the negative reviews for this product. Have been using it for about a year and am just reaching the end of the palette. Very easy to use – just flatten the hair next to your parting with your hand and brush onto the roots. It lasts until you wash it out and has worked great for me to successfully disguise small amounts of roots. My hair grows so quickly I used to have to redo my roots every two weeks, but can eke it out for a month now. I hate dying my roots and it takes soooo long, so would never be without this. I color my hair dark blonde and bought the light brown and it’s a perfect match.
OK, I reached the end of the palette and bought a new one and now I understand the negative reviews – no longer covers as well and you have to go over the roots many times to get any coverage at all. Shame!

I really love this product! Why?:
– it covers my grey roots beautifully
– it is easy to apply (just pull your hair straight to your scalp and apply powder with a ‘firm hand’
– the product goes a long way (for me: min. 3 months with 4 applications per week)
– is stays put until the next shampoo (even in the rain, after running 20k)
– is saves money because I can postpone my next visit to the hairdresser with 2 -3 weeks
I use the light brown colour to cover up grey roots on temples and hairline. (My hair colour is dark blonde).
So I’ll definitely buy this product again and I am more than pleased that I’ve found a product which covers grey roots (in between salon visits) in such an easy way.

This is a great product, as long as you get the right colour and know how to use it. As a non-natural redhead who´s hair grows out so much between monthly appointments at the hair dresser, this is what gets me through the last week before I get my roots done.
The amount of product might seem small, but you use such a small amount each time, it really will last for a while.
I fixate with hairspray, and also use hairspry before applying to give the powder something to “stick to”. It looks good and stays on, so I could not be happier!
