Where to begin… I have been dyeing my hair red for the past three years using Tech Italy or ION hair dyes ( the ones where you mix the tube contents with 90 ml of peroxide 30) and I had NEVER had any issues with them itching or burning my scalp or anything.
Two months had passed since the last time I dyed my hair, mostly because I’m super busy with college, so my roots were really long and ugly. I saw this hair dye at CVS for discount so I thought why not? I got two boxes and applied the dyes according to instructions earlier today… and… it BURNED MY SCALP.
It started getting very warm at first and then I noticed some stinging but after five minutes my whole head felt like it was ON FIRE! So much so that I started tearing up from the pain.
I washed my head with cold water almost immediately, I only left the product like 10 minutes tops on my head so the full color effect is not noticeable (obviously) and this product left first degree burns on my scalp that will probably heal with tons of dead skin tissue (AKA dandruff).
So to sum it all up I have first degree burns on my head and my hair looks just as crappy as before. The box says it has no ammonia so I’m wondering what it REALLY contains (pee? sulfur? stomach acid?). I’m so mad!!!
